Hey i just started track adn field and im throwin jav. its really fun. iw as just wondering if any jav throwers that were good can give me some pointers. My school had state records for Jav disk and shot haha i gotta lvie up tot eh expectations so im tryin to get as much info as possible

oh yea i cant feel my legs from practice haha. they have his doin stairs and sprinting. today after practice i locked my keys in my celi haha got he spare and i slowly got it but my legs are so dead it hurt to puch in the clutch! haha

I do Jav but only a little, couldn't really give you too much advice. I do it for Decathlon outdoors. Its a good time. We have a guy here who throws 190's.

I prefer to stick to the jumping events, my throws aren't my strongest point. Give me some hurdles or a bar to jump over and thats where its at

Does throwing a jav relate to throwing a football or baseball. Well the arm motion might be the same, but the way you release it and the release point is different. When I pitched I had a 3/4 delivery, but when football season came up I had to change my entire motion and reteach myself every summer to do over arm for football. Maybe pop your hips more, like a boxer does when he delivers a punch. Thats what I do to give me my extra umph in deep balls and throwing those 20 yard outs.

Its probably closer to a football toss than baseball, although still very different, you do a reverse C position, where you flex your whole body almost like a leaf spring and your front leg stays stiff as you throw over it. The motion is almost a straight arm over the head instead of a throw.

i wanted to do jav, disc, and shot, but i never had the time.

i would do it now, but i've lost my strength..

all i know that i tried in high school and it was hard as hell but you should try pole vaulting its pretty fun way better than javelin no offense just do to the fact that pole vaulting is easier...

Yeah? You could miss the damn mat and hit the pave lol... I'd rather stick with baseball. Thats more fun.
