I agree completely. This thread has served its purpose (perhaps a bit over and beyond) and it needed to happen. But its done, let's call it a day.

i think someone should start their own celica site and post there. or go to planetboredom and post funny stuff, and leave the helpful technical info on here

i for one am happy with how this is run. the hid guy seems a bit shady, and the bumping is annoying. cant complain about that being closed. especially since he started selling the day he joined.

imo more threads need to be closed/let die off

You all have no idea...where else do the mods gave a helping hand and drive 3 hrs or about an hour for jeff to help a member..you have no idea what goes on.

Have you every thought that maybe the mods get a bunch of report this post on the threads that have been lock? Other members are complaining about the stupid remarks people make.

I myself right now would like to thank all of the mods who make this an enjoyable place thank you for all the time you put in around here. Some of us around here really do appreciate it so a big thanks from me.

what u just said below doesn't make total sense...how do you no they are closing a thread because they personally feel that way...I have used the report a post and im sure others have to bc after using it I have seen action being used meaning since i followed the forum rules the mods respected me and closed the thread(I am sure I wasn't the only member to report tho)

Also Eric isn't crying about it so why should everyone else..let Eric fight his own battles and I am sure if he had a problem it was resolved over the phone.

I am sure if u meet Manny ur gonna have a change of opinion...ask Manny himself we didnt get off on the right foot in the beginning his first words to me were your gonna blow your engine...I was like sure w/e and then guess what happen my engine blew...(this was an old car has nothing to do with any of the 6th gens) After I got to see the real Manny at a meet It took me no longer then 2 seconds to fall in love bc he is just an awesome person and you all have the wrong idea.

i'll agree with both sides here....everyone sticking up for the mods knows them personaly or at least has some connection with them...so of course your not gonna bad mouth them on here even if they do do something you dont like...but for the people who dont know them personaly like myself....which i see myself running into pressure2 (manny) very soon...they think hes a jerk off for closing threads like the HID one and the others....i think that the threads should not be closed at all...there is helpful information on almost every thread you click on on this site...for the smartasses that make stupid coments...then just delete their comment, thats all....just because you know eric personaly doesnt mean you should be able to just close his thread caus you dont feel its a FS thread..i mean who cares? i had the same exact thread and mine didnt get closed....anyway the point im trying to make is that the mods.....which pressure seems to be the only active one on here...post a lot of helpful information and give a lot back to the 6GC community....but closing threads caus you PERSONALY and no other reason think that they are pointless is just redicilous.....end of story

Most of the threads in the OT section do deserve to get closed, like the "How did u get out of a ticket" garbage. HOWEVER there are many instances where threads get shut down just cuz 2 people are "debating" or arguing to make their points. Rather than tell them to calm down and edit the posts, they just make slick comments and just close down the thread. Many threads do deserve to get shut down without warning (the pointless cr*p), however many do not deserve to get shut down. That is the point. Nobody is bashing people here. NOT ONE. So read from page 1 before you make such comments.

I read every page don't worry...Just by the title it looks to me as if its a bash on the mods. I completely understand what everyone is talking about on the other hand I don't think you understand what I am saying..Presure2 posted a sticky about reporting post all I am saying is maybe ppl are actually following the rules and using it thus in return getting results. I understand post get closed and people aren't happy but maybe the mods are not completely to blame.

WOW, this is the ugliest thread ever. I see sides being chosen, and not even given a thought that someone who is unbiased, looking to open some eyes and just give a little acknowledgment to how things are being handled. Not bashing, but just out of respect for your fellow person. Just because someone has a title, doesn't make them any better than the new guy who joins. Although your title is given for a reason, perhaps remember we are all human and should be treated with respect. Not look down on someone because you never met them personally, or had them help you in some way, or even contributed to a few threads.

Without choosing sides, and without getting nasty, just look onto how things can be resolved without getting super sensitive and wanting to correct whatever tension is between us. We are like a family, we all share at least one thing in common for the most part. So what if you don't know so and so, but know someone who has reputation here? We were all newbies once. So remind yourself of that, don't be super sensitive, and let's get this $#!t resolved like adults.

I love how people are saying "if you dont like it get out" reminds me of when people bitch about our country they just say"then get out". Why get out? we are complaining about things being unfair and unreasonable not in every aspect but in some. We complain because we want it fixed so we can continue on and post happilly. well for those who say get out heres what i have to say. What if we really think this site is a great place for information and great people that want to help in anyway they can to people they have not nor will most likly ever meet. I may have not been here for as long as a lot of people that have earned respect from this site. But I have seen you close posts that i have found no fault in or that you could have just warned them and it would have been fixed with in the second you said "Watch your mouths" I agree with DEATH and D-man in that the Smart remarks when closeing a thread is uncalled for, and that if a warning was given before it was closed that the Houston Crew and a lot of others would have had no problem, or any part of this thread. I am not challanging you or any work that you have done, nor am i saying that you are just a jerk who site on his thrown and closes threads after flaming the retards to get his jolies off. I am not saying any of those things. You have said if we dont like it to talk to Chris, Ive seen him once since ive joined this site. people are conplaining to you because you are the most active Mod on the site, and it being done publliclly because people dont feel that if your PMed the message is getting to you or they feel you will ignore them. You also say that you are open to new ideas. If you are then listen to what we are saying and think about it. Some people on this thread are really complaining, and are looking for change. If you are really open to new ideas then think about what is being said and push for that change. If you have to talk to Chris or you can do it then do it if you feel that these arguments are valid. If you dont think they are then why not? if you give an answer to that then i and maybe some others will understand and leave it be. Personally i dont know if any of this is going to do any good. You said that this happens every 6 months so maybe your just sitting back and ignoring this till someone says the wrong thing and you can close it. But if you reading this like a MOD, then just think about warning us before a thread is closed for one comment that was said with out thinking, and maybe pull back on the smart comments before closing a thread that needs to be closed.

okay. before i joined this site, i've been lingering around checking it out for a couple years. i knew my celica right from the gecko but wanted more info so i decided to join. so far, it's been helpful. i dont post much nor do i care what people say or do. i mean it's the internet and people roam freely. most of the time, i dont understand the mods but it's how this site is run and i totally respect it. they just need to give out some sort of "WARNING" before closing with a smartass reply.

i think that IF we had 2 mods a post closure should be validated by at least 2 mods,but we only have one full timer....

i agree, he should post, but i am not him.

i cannot assume, but i would think if he had a problem with how his site was being run, he would adress it with the people doing so.
