Caster issue - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #56955 7 posts Started by purplegt4
Old news but I believe I need a new strut mount. My caster is off on the front/driver (left) side. I replaced the control arm, axle & wheel bearing already. I may need to replace my strut or strut mount next to see if I can resolve this caster issue. About two years ago I hit something, bent my rim pretty bad, and caused my damper adjuster to make a dent in my hood, only going 35-40mph (raining at night). Maybe the strut mount went bad, maybe the strut is now bent, maybe the tower itself is bent; I hope it's not the latter.

Anybody have experience with this? Ideas?

If I do get a new strut mount I was searching online and recall seeing some at

TRD Heavy Duty Top Mounts
http://www.fensport.co.uk > parts > st202/at200 > chassis tuning > top mounts
~$72 USD each

If my strut is bent I'll order a new one from tein.

And If my tower is bent, I have no idea what to do.
those TRD mounts don't look adjustable. are you sure they are gonna work with your current setup don't the teins come with adjustable pillowball mounts?

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!
no. not for mine, i used the stock mounts. the pillowball mounts were not available for my application. mad.gif

o man. I got quoted for ~300 shipped for two strut mounts and rear bushing kit.

worth it? -> only if it fixes my caster issue. (rear bushing kit is just to combine other fensport purchase into 1 shipping quote.)
strut mount was bent pretty bad.
I might want to get some of these, do they ship to America?
why not get cusco ones. i believe they're about $100 more than the TRD ones but they are adjustable. i have them and i'm quite satisfied.
