New subwoofer/amp setup! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #57091 10 posts Started by GotToyota
Here is my new setup that I put in last night:

IPB Image

JL Audio e1400d amplifier, along with 2 12" Alpine Type E's in a ported box. Sounds freaking amazing to say the least. I'm probably going to change the box to two single 12" boxes, because this damn box now must weight 100 lbs at least. Tell me what you guys think.

100 lbs isnt really that heavy for a fiber board box thats built to support those speakers.....

fiberglass and kevlar would b lighter but more ecpensive...

sick setup tho!

how many db's is it pushin?
hardcore dude~ biggrin.gif

Looks good, Ported box in the hatchback eh? I bet it rocks. wink.gif That's why i miss the hatch's~

awesome man, i have a pair of those type e's but i also have my infinitys, idk which im going to install in my car. ill probably use my infinitys, they never fail. ill just sell the e's.
Now actually lifting the box, it's easily passed 100lbs. Like maybe 115 or so. It sinks the car down, to give you an idea.

With and without the cap, I haven't tried it without, but I honestly don't want to. I have a feeling that my lights would flicker.

I think I'm going to get a standard sealed 12" box, due to the weight. I'd like to get it to fix in between the two back panels, if possible.

the box i have, was made for 12's, and it fits perfectly between my rear panels in the hatch. i had no problem with sliding or anything also. and i dont think it weighed too much, maybe 75 pounds at most with me 2 10's/

i have measured up for a similar box...

with 90cm top, 80cm bottom, 32cm height and 35cm bottom depth and 25cm top depth it should fit perfectly between the sus towers and give around 2 cuft... dividable into 2 X 1cuft which is about right for a 12" sub, no?
