lower arm bar...anyone have one? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #57093 20 posts Started by 95st-celica
i was looking at these a while ago but i wasnt sure if they made them for our cars....i went onto japanparts.com and they had one but i don't think they are selling the larger one(version 2) which looks like it gives more support....does anyone have one of the on there 6th gen? if so can you post up some pics of these and where you got it from....it says that it replaces a stock bar that we have...i was under the impression that it was an aftermarket bolt up to support the underbody of the car...not replace a stock bar...anyone with info on this?

also...anyone have a rollcage?? i was thinking about putting a rollcage in after doing my swap but im thinking im going to have to fab one up myself because i highly doubt anyone makes a roll cage for our cars

There's always the optioin for the JIC Magic 1 lower arm bar. I believe they were like ~200. And i can't remember which member had it on their 6gc.
Also, why do you plan on getting a rollcage? Not like our cars are really prone to flipping over anyway, and hope you don't fall off a bridge or something. But even if u were to get hit from the side, I tihnk your door support beams should do it. (if we even have them, but our cars are pretty tough...imo)

cusco made a bolt in roll cage for the gt-four. But taking your car to a reputable shop and getting a roll cage built is a better idea than buying a bolt in one in my opinion, they are more solidly built if done properly.

are you planning on being fully caged into your seat? though that might sound like added safety it also comes with a lot more dangers as well. Hopefully you'll have well mounted aftermarket seats that will hold you in place, helmets, and full harnesses for you and passengers. Wouldnt want to slam your head or any other part of your body into that cage in case of an accident.

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!

do you know where i could find the blot in roll cage? im sure they discontinued it..if not i would love to get one if it means not having to fab one up....because i have a feeling that if i do make one myself its gonna be in there for good...i want one that i can unbolt...that would be the best situation....the reason i am putting/thinking about a roll cage is because as crazy as it sounds..if something were ever to happen and i did roll my car..i want the extra support....my buddy didnt think his s2k would flip either but now him and another close friend are both gone due to a serious accident....anyway...if anyone with info could send me a link to where i could get a lower arm bar and/or a bolt in roll cage that would be great!

Can someone explain to me how putting another bar on the already solid crossmember would help with handling?

sorry about that. also if your car is lowereit does tend to hit on things. i remember looking at mine the last time i jacked it up and it was pretty beat up.

cheers for that pic....shows that the version II one (4 connection points) fits a non -st205 gt-four cause on the cusco catalog the only version 2 listed for st20X celica's is for St205 only.....proven wrong....but thats a goog thing.

Anyone wanna let me know any preferences over the cusco 4pt bar compared with the JIC Magic Type 1 Lower arm bar (2pt.) if there are any; just curious....more support? Stronger frame? Price?
