borderline best game ever, I got mine yesterday and me and my buddies cant stop playing it. ign gave it a 10 out of 10, you can't really argue with that one.

Yeah it's rough! Everyones like this is the greatest game, it's so awesome. I can't play 10mins. worth of it to find out!

From what I've been reading it's been randomly happening to every type of PS3 but mostly 20 & 60 gigs. This doesn't help since I have a 40. It's not just one chain of stores, it's worldwide, it's both consoles.

I waited an hour in front of the mall until they let us in, after the wait though, I had the game w/ in 10 min . When I left there was still a huge line out the door, around the corner, outside the mall doors and around another corner lol. Such an awesome game! I agree, the controls take some getting used to too in this one.

Update: I disabled my WiFi on the PS3 and now I have been playing for 3 hrs problem free. Seems something is up with connecting to the PSN.

I don't know about that. I think Rockstar just didn't get rid of ALL the bugs they should have b/c mine froze up earlier today as I was only 1.5 hours into playing it on my 360, but 3 hours yeasterday morning and 3 at night, it had no problem at all..I really hope my copy isn't defective

I don't think it's an answer to everyone. I will turn it on tomorrow and try playing again, see what happens. If it locks up again, I'm going to have to conclude that there's something wrong with the PSN talking to the game.

But for now, I can actually play the game. It's pretty good so far.

played it for about 12 hours total so far and its locked up twice. on both occasions it came back in less than a minute so its not too bad.

game is great btw

I got the game when it came out.. and played for about 10 min then went to bed. Woke up the next day to find my roomate knocked over the 360 and it is now broke....I have to wait for a week while he gets it fixed....I am leaving it in my room after that.

GTAIV for PS3 now has a patch available which should eliminate the freezing, or so they hope. Apparently servers were being overloaded and causing crashes, I'll check this out later today when I DL it.

anyone know if they are working on a patch for the older 360's? I get freezing now and then, not horrible, but still would be nice to be able to play w/out worrying about it.

im almost done with it also another couple of days.....mine is working fine but my xbox is less than 6 months old. and i think all ps3 games freeze up. i couldnt even finish devil may cry 4. if it wasnt for the new metal gear comin out i would sell the thing.

Not all PS3 games freeze up, in fact none should. I haven't had a problem with any of my other games.

no problems with my ps3 so far. i didn't even need the gta patch. i was playing online just fine. if you're just all about mgs4 you can sell your ps3 now and get the mgs4 bundle when it comes out. play it, beat it, and then sell that too.

its juss so hard bein a ps2 guy for the longest time. idk if it matters any but i cheaped out and got the 40 gig. and it doubles as a semi second computer with the internet and all. i use this 1 site called surfthenet.com to watch all the new movies in theaters still. black market but some of em come in good. lol save the 50 bux it would cost me to go out and c'em.....

well it finally froze on me. not really freeze but a glitch. i went to triangles for 20 something minutes and after a private viewing he just sat on the chair tapping his fingers. no option to get up, pressed all the buttons and the only one that worked was the pause (start) and the ps home button.
