I figured all us guys with the swaps can post some before the swap pics and after the swap pics. You know just to show our mods before we did it big and revamped the engine bay.... This goes for the 5sfte and 7afte guys too......

You've only seen my tail lights oooooohhhhhh haha I kid I kid. Well..... That's a good question because it hasn't moved from my driveway in 3 years. Before that I was big into the celica scene. So I was always in houston. Besides that I don't know.

Yes it most certainly has.... I like the ghettoriged 3s setup haha... BUT... Like you said though you were doing this stuff back when it wasnt hugely noted on the Q and A's of what happens and whatdoes this sound mean and all this. We owe a lot to the guys like you who pioneered these modifications for the rest of us guys to be able to get our questions answered. So I think I speak for us all when I say thank you for all of you guys for paving the way for bigger and better improvements to our 6gc's

- Matt

No .... I dont have another one..... I hated being without my celica... But a company who was doing my swap screwed it up and couldnt get it to start and gave up on it.... It bummed me out so bad I was like seriously depressed everytime I saw the celica...

- Matt
3yrs to swap....wow!
What are you planning to replace while the motor is out?

Um do you mean like internals and such? As far as that goes.... nothing right now... I just got a equal length exhaust manifold so I might switch that out while it is off the beast... I just plain dont have the money to finish the swap AND put bad ass stuff in there right now... EVENTUALLY, I would like to do cams and cam gears, pistons and such like that... I dont know much about what cams and pistons would be best, so I have left that alone for right now. What cams and pistons would be best. I was looking into the HKS 272 or something like that, but I dont know what lift ratio and all that means and I would like to understand that before I throw money at something that isnt good for me. I feel you should never buy a part just because you can, I feel you should fully understand WHY you should get the part before you purchase it....

- Matt

EDIT:

And yes 3 years.... how I survived I do not know.... It was horrible without the car

Im not talking about internals.
Im talking about all the oil seals and gaskets that tend to leak like crazy on these motors. Along with new timing belt, water pump, termostat, etc...
Do all that now, or you'll regret it later on.

Those manifolds are considered to be pretty much pure junk. They have a tendency to crack and they generate way too much engine bay heat. Stick with the oem manifold, its very efficient and is even used on every high hp 3sgte's.

That being said about seals...... ALL seals and gaskets were replaced 3 years ago by the other mechanic.... the engine NEVER started at all... but it did have new oil put in it right before it was test fired.... The seals have never seen engine load. Are they still good or should they be replaced?
