OK well the guy painting my car gave me a call today adn told me to drop the celi off on tuesday. so my paintjob is now in full effect. I am most likely helping wiht the whole thing so i will be posting PLENTY of pictures!!!! I am so pumped!!

quick question. anyone with a painted CB hood or any painters here . could you tell me if i cost extra to paint a CF hood and how much harder it is?

aww your getting it done before me >_< well i have to play catchup now lol. but to paint the cf hood shouldnt cost ne more ur going to have to prime and paint it just like a normal hood but u might have to work on the cf before u prime to work out any inperfections that might be in the resin coat. so it might cost a little more but if ur helping i dont see why they would charge u to much more esp if the hood can just be primed and painted. but i could be wrong there might be a whole other step im missing but ive also never painted on cf.

All body work done by me and im also painting it ive been working on other peoples cars for the past year i think i have enough exp to a do a full over hall of the celi finally. im probly missing someother items i have sitting in my garage i have some suspention teckniques coilovers also but i doubt ill install them i woudl rather go with kyb's and tiens. and im still looking for rims. all i need to do is buy my new shark fin antenna and have my paint mixed up and im also shopping for a new spray gun for this project im tired of renting and barrowing guns soo takeing some advice from some members here imma pick up a devilbliss gti which hopefull will be this week along with the antenna then i just need to wait till my uncles shop has an openign for me to spray and ill take a week to mod everythign and make it fit.

please elaborate on the rear strut bar for a coupe?

where on earth did you find one, how does it fit, and why did you get one? the rear end is more than rigid enough as it is.

also bump, i wanna see some pics!

after i received them i found out they were home made i wont be useing the rear i just have it lol and ill prolly end up redoing the front the welds look like crap and it needs to be refinished. and i wasnt sure how the rears even bolted up but with having a sub in the back i wont be useing it so it will ither go un used or junked or given to someone who thinks they can use it after eveything is done. one of these days i need to bring everything outta the garage and take some pics but theres so many boxes i dont wanna repack everything lol

yea itll be worth it. he doesnt do it full time. he only has a couple days a week to do it. plus teaching me. but hes one of the best around, i guess u used to work for ferrari and paint them and do the body work. Its gonna be orange, just dont know what type. he gettin paintbooks for me that i can look at. i just dont want burnt orange or the orange of there newer cars.

i actually like the burnt orange but i think u should find a different flake to put into it instead of what normally comes in it. my i understand on the paint thing i cant seem to find the right grey i want ither i really like the viper grey but then i dont cause its not dark enough but i also like the new f250 grey ive been seeing really nice dark grey and with out alot of flake so i would be able to put in my blue flake like i want to

ive been looking i also have been researching online also im just being picky untill it comes down to actually painting the car then ill make a decision i still need my antenna and new gun i was out bid on the one i wanted by 5 bucks instead of watching ebay i went fishing stupid move on my part >_<

ok so yesterday i was workin on the celica and the question of graphics came up, he mentioned putting a vinyl sayin celica or something else, eben a design, and something with the way he paints over it, it would be slightly visible to the point where you can jsut see the words "celica" or what ever else is on there from further away. and when u are up close u cant even see it at all.

opinions would be nice, and maybe some ideas of what to put on the side

what me and my uncle were thinking of doing is getting a graphic id like but getting the outside of it as a stencil then doing a slightly darker shade of paint for the pgraphic then airbrushing in detail. but to do that i would contact a local signshop u might be able to talk them into letting u have the stencil and let them have the graphic to resell for cheeper since they woudl be throughing it away anyways. im sick and cant spell so i know this is full of errors hope i made sense and it helps lol
