dairy queen is a requirement on texas towns, if you doing have one, you live in a village! laugh.gif

That means I live in a village kindasad.gif We only have one left that I know of and it's a privately owned psuedoDQ owned by Asians on Westheimer. Thank god for asian cooks but they have no business making hungerbusters - never seen such a skimpy burger. When's the last time you had to order two meals at DQ just to get full? mad.gif

Since DQ seems to be a hit there is one near the turn off on I-10 to go to the Seally track. I vote we eat and meet there biggrin.gif

Where the hell is snap? We need to make sure this won't kill his attendance too.

Truthfully there is a certain amount of experience you need to lead a large group of cars from point a to point b thru lights and such. We used to do it all the time back in the day but we learned then who can lead and who cannot. I'm pretty sure this was Roellamizzles first time. Next time I will get my own maps and drive there before hand [I've been there a few times before so I already have a leg up on it]. I know how to lead a group - we'll get there just fine.

oh no dont get me wrong, i'm not talkin no Sh!t. None.

I'm just as much at fault (if not more) as the next for last meet. That's why i'm going to load maps on my phone before roll-out, and it would deff help for everyone to have a list with everyones phone numbers on it, so if someone pulls off to take a piss, or if i need more beef jerky, or if someone gets a flat, ect.

We need to have the ability to contact and communicate with each other.

Last time was awesome, because none of us were really prepared, especially me, Because i have so many resources; but none were setup. rolleyes.gif It's not like me to make those misteaks, and its not going to happen again. biggrin.gif

We're going to be one big happy trail of cars rollin into this thing. laugh.gif

It helps to have everyones number ...
#'s are key, your right Jared, we need to make sure that we all p.m them to each other before this thing.

Not that we had a hard time sticking together in Bastrop, i thought that went pretty smoothe.

Something that Scott and i do is talk on walkies that i got at Target for $20, its kinda cool.

Sorry, no animated sigs allowed.
FOR THE HOUSTON PEOPLE:

WHAT: Chewy Balls and Planet Zero car meet.
WHERE: Chewy Balls 7316 Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379
Planet Zero 12303-J Westhiemer Rd. Houston, TX 77077
WHEN: Saturday April 26th @ 7:00PM
WHY: Cuz both places are off the fcukin hook!

Itinerary:

Meet up at Chewy Balls around 7/7:30 at the latest, BS around, harass Christi for a bit, then cruise to Planet Zero, check out the S2K invasion, play some video games, maybe have dinner at the Double Dave's next door. Sound cool, guys? More than likely, I will be meeting you guys up at CB first since I live closer to them and would probably have to go home and shower anyways after spending some time with the Supra.

I've been watching...

As of right now, the date and place seem okay. That being said, June 7th is a long way out and i don't know my exact schedule for this day. If nothing more important comes up, i should be able to make it. I really cannot be sure until we get closer.

Lizzard?

I'm officially no longer part of the Broken Axles Club. On Monday, my axles finally came to the point where it would start *clackclackclacking* as I slowed down to a stop, so I dropped the car off at my mechanic's to take care of it.

Anyways, everyone good for Saturday so far that can go?

-Alex {](O_o)[}1993.5 Toyota Supra....with stuff........sorta broken....1998 Toyota Celica....this one, too, has stuff........broken....yeah...definitely broken....
I'm no longer in possession of a 6GC, it met its end on a fun twisty road with a COMPLETELY RANDOM PUDDLE AFTER A BLIND TURN FOLLOWED BY A LIGHT POLE THAT JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME OUTTA NOWHERE mad.gif (note: still super pissed, loved that car, white 98 GT Conv. also still haven't received a bill from the city for that light pole, pretty sure the cop was bluffing) but I still troll the forums here every now and then, 6GC.net was my first car forum, and still my favorite.

Now I've got a Silver '03 Mazda Proteg5 with a CAI, fart-can exhaust(came with it kindasad.gif ), and a pretty decent stereo with a 400W RMS 12" sub. But the idea of being surrounded by Celicas for a day sounds like fun to me smile.gif Hehe, I've even thought about selling my Protege5 and getting another 6GC after college when I have a decent job, 'cause you know by then they'd be 15-20yrs old and classic wink.gif instead of just old tongue.gif

How do you figure? Verts are the Miss Piggy of Celicas laugh.gif
That honor probably goes to Brandon seeing as he has no sunroof but a coupe with no options would be lighter. wink.gif -T-spoon - I think Alex has you there as well.

i keep hearing this...

i just dont understand how though confused.gif

I had one took alltheway apart this weekend... The motors weigh like 5 lbs each... Gears weigh less than that... And there is barely any framing to it...

The reason the Verts(2755 lbs) weigh so much more than the Coupes(2395 lbs) and Hatchbacks(2415 lbs) is additional bracing(like you said, the actual Vert roof components are decently light), mostly done by doubling up layers of the unibody in key areas, they have to because there's no solid roof for support. The roof makes up alot of a car's strength, it pretty much creates a box frame for the center section of a car(Google Box Frames and Lotus 7's if you have a chance). So with out the roof they had to compensate(lolz... compensate hehe, Verts are compensating for a lack of stiffness laugh.gif ) and bulk up areas to keep the unibody from twisting, torquing, or warping itself to death.

I still remember being able to feel my Vert flex in a hard turn (awwwe good times rolleyes.gif ), you could glance at the door gaps mid-turn and watch them change, when I first noticed I thought the doors were just loose on the hinges or something, but friends and I couldn't get them to move the way they did in a hard corner, it wasn't the doors moving or flexing, it was everything else twisting kindasad.gif

And... back on topic! Currently located in a North Houston suburb, would love to attend the June 7th meet, if me and my Mazda are welcome frown.gif

Matt, you mean crazy Rob? Lol. I'll see if he's willing to come out Saturday night.

D-man, coupes don't need rear strut bars as bad as the hatches. I'm actually a lot more stiffer in the rear than the hatches.
