seatbelt light problem - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #5782 11 posts Started by DoodieHead
the seatbelt light on the bottom left corner of the gauge cluster remains on at all times and has been doing this ever since i have driven. i have a piece of velcro over it so it blocks the light but still want to know how i can make it disappear. i dont want to just unplug it, i want to fix the problem., maybe its a wiring prob?
I can take a look at my wiring tomorrow and see if I can help you out, since the inside of my car is all torn apart anyway.

I have my windows hooked up to my alarm, so when i hit the alarm, the doors lock and my windows go up. Very nice feature, and really cool.

all u have too do is find the connecter under the seat disconnect it put a paper clip or something like that in it and tape it up real good. make sure u put it in the one that go's thruogh the carpet and not the one that go's to the seat belt latch.
so is there a way i could fix it so it will function when the seatbelt is actually not on. i dont want to rig it so it says the belt is latched

yes, i checked harness under seats, i might take into the automotive tech college im attending and take a look at it better
well, i obviously didnt look hard enough bc after looking where the latch is for the belt, i saw that a cut wire was hanging around. so i took out my seat, and one of the 2 wires were cut, so i fixed the wire, reassembled and now the light is gone when i put seatbelt on >smile.gif>
