Im considering going further and making my very own AEM >>cold air>> intake so I went ahead and prepared for it by removing all the useless plastic in the fender



the plastic box in the top left corner seems to serve no purpose at all and its tricky to remove. Somehow a mouse managed to get inside and poop all over all over everything.

I was on a roll so i decided to tackle that pesky drivers side headlight.



in progress. I forgot to take pics of me pouring all the water out of the lamp. there must of been atleast a cup in there! Nothing a little boiling and reseal cant fix



I placed the bumper on the grass to keep it safe and the wind carried it towards my side walk its scratched up now.

Im trying to decide between making my own heat shield or going forward and running the intake to the fender. The heatshield would be easier but not neccessarily the best for performance. Running more piping on the other hand is going to be a headache because the space between the fusebox and the chassis is really tight. well see, right now im going to try some flex tubing to get a general idea of the dimensions I need, then ill see what jc whitney can offer me.

I think a 2.5 or 2.75' pipe will go perfectly into that little square whole cause i tried one on mine before. Why do most of the 6gen celicas highbeam on the driver side always fog up and get water in it????...mines like that too...im gonna smoke it when i take it out though...anyone got pix of smoked stock headlight on a black celi?

is it legal to remove the headlight for an air filter?

i have the same problem in the same headlight...

It does seem like a common problem. when i took out my high beam the gasket seemed like it was never applied properly, leaving a few gaps. after boiling and seperating the glass it turned out i was right. after removing all of the old stuff i added my own sealant and havent had problems since

Man how the hell did you take out the box thats under the fuse kit where the ecu is i couldn' take out the box thats in the bottom right hand corner and the top left corner of your pic of the old air box

do you need to take out the front left headlight the high beam in order to remove it, or just the front bumper??!

to remove the box in the top left corner, you're gonna have to take out all of the splash guards from underneath the car. once those are off, you'll see two bolts (10 mm) that are holding it up. those are pretty easy to reach, for the third bolt you will have to remove the side marker in order to get easy access. as far as the ducting thats wedged between your fusebox and fender, remove unbolt the fusebox and pull the ducting UP. not away from the fender. you'll see that once you get the bottom part to separate, the rest will come out easily.

I already have teh bootleg carb sticker, it came with the rest of the aem stuff
