Suppose your buying the Piston kit by Ross. Do you customize the specs or take it stock cause its designed for the 3sgte.
P.S. if you know then reply please if you not sure dont.
i am sure that more people would reply to a topic with a real title.
and to your question they would have to be machined some what because the block on the 5s has more displacement than the 3s-gte so i doubt that it would even work because you cant make the cyylinders smaller on an engine. you can bore them out to make more displacement. plus the 3s-gte connecting rods and crankshaft are different than the 5s-fe as well.
I might be wrong so someone correct me if I am just dont be an ass about it.

i dont see how 3sgte specific pistons could be used in any other motor (besides maybe a 3sge) without being modified, as said before the displacement and bore size are completely different between the 3s, 5s, 7a, or any of the older celica motors. not saying they couldnt be modified, but if you are going to spend a ton of money on ross pistons just to modify them, id say go find something thats made specifically for the motor you are using... unless the goal is changing compression ratios, bore sizing, and displacement. id recommend JE pistons for that kind of stuff. if thats the case, then you are on your own, cuz no one one this site would beable to walk you through what your are doing, cuz we have no idea what you are involving in your project... so we all have the same reaction to the topic as you... WTF. it was probably a typo on either coomer or whoever posted the part on the databases part.
Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
If I'm not mistaken the bore size on the 3s and 5s are the same 86; I am under the impression the that the stroke is what is different and that is when you take into account the head. So the pistons should work for you but the connecting rods and bearings are where you may run into problems. Hope this helps.

I want to get the web cam hard weld but the one that boosts mid-high reccomends high compression pistons along with a apex safc. so thats what the plan was and our data base said they would fit but I guess it would be harder than I thought

Pauter, Crower and eagle all make pistons for the 5sfe and can do high comp or low. From what I understand the 3s ones are to small for the 5sfe. Think about it if they fit you would see tons of people using them. The rods however do fit but have to be shortned frist.
