Question about gas mileage. - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58211 7 posts Started by massbrandon
The other day I got 174 miles to a half tank of gas. To me thats pretty darn good. Does anyone else have numbers close to this? This of course was after a tune up (minus oil change). Before I was getting about 300 miles to a full tank of gas. Now, if I just double that its approx 350 to a full tank. Are these results normal for a post tune up?
never figure gas milage from the gas gauge position, the reading changes as fuel moves around in the tank. wait till you fill up and then do the simple math of miles drive divided by gallons used.

I got around 400 miles for a full tank. I got a 95' st that mileage seems good to me.

Yep, that's what I get usually, around 29 mpg. Not bad, but it could be better for a 4-cylinder engine.
with the auto in 4 door form (same weight as celica  ) im getting 27-30 on my commute to work which would be classified as mixed city/"highway".

on real stop and go i see mid to low 20's, 23-25ish
on real highway cruising i see 30-38 depending on hills, mountains, speed, etc. worst was 30mpg doing 80-90mph, best was 38 doing 60-70.

Yeah I am going to fill it up hopefully today. Me having the auto is the reason I asked. I know some of you ST guys with the manual tranny get really good gas mileage. Thanks for the input gents!
most ive had was 360miles outa my st205 and that was motorway miles driving off boost.
