Hey all,

this summer i will be coming to Burbank in LA to do an internship with one of my dad's friends. I will be stay from about June 5th to about the second week in August.

Now i do not know ANYBODY that i could hang out with on weekends and so i was wondering if anybody lived around that area. I figured if i could meet some other celica owners at least we would have one thing we share in common, our love for the 6gcs.

I will also be trying to get into the nearest auto-x divsion to Burbank, i dont exactly where to go for that.

I would really love to meet some fellow 6gc owners and make a some friends over the summer.

Open for any suggestions.

Well gosh golly. There will definatly be some meets to look forward to in SoCal. I hope you have a good time while you're here. The SoCal guys are very friendly people (for the most part). Make sure to let me know when you are availible for a meet, and I will make it happen. Have a good day .

So which Celica will you be driving here? . The cops shouldn't bother you too much as long as your tags aren't expired. And as long as you aren't attracting a lot of attention.

I will be driving my Red ST celica, the one with the built 7-AFE and all the expensive mods engine wise... it is loud but i will put my silencer in my muffler so i dont attract too much attention. Should be a long and boring drive from STl tho, its gonna take me like 4-5 days....i cant wait... lol jk

Hey maybe we can all meet up! June 5th I am coming to Torrance, CA to see Jeff and hopefully be able to get my shocks/springs and projectors installed. I am leaving Bakersfield at 5AM or 6AM and get there early as hell (takes me about 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs... wait Torrance? Maybe 2 1/2 - 3 to be safe).


Anyone wanting to meet up, just um... PM me and I will kick down my number and we can come up with a game plan. I am not asking for you to break plans or all your time, but I would at least like to get to meet you for future events. I am going to be jobless for a few months, so during this summer, I should be good to roll to any car show events and such. Yeah, I said jobless, but not cashless. x-D

I warn anyone who reads this. Don't ask to see my engine bay, it is dirty as FUNK! Okay well if you want it is ok, but it hasn't been cleaned and I plan on doing that in late June. Um... One of my fenders is a little dented, thanks to these guys who couldn't wait for me to park before jumping out of the car as if they were going to run out of beer, so I hit a budwieser truck. Not a big deal, but I want st205 fenders. And I need a new dash and steering wheel. My car was in an accident before I bought it. Some old lady got hit by a truck or something, car has salvaged title.

These are just meets, not car shows. It doesn't matter if your Celica has imperfections or is dirty. You could have a smashed up rear end and be running 4 different rims, it doesn't matter. If you are part of this forum, you are welcome no matter what. You don't even have to have a Celica to attend. All of our cars have their own little problems, and we are all aware of that. We aren't expecting everyone to have show quality cars. Just go, and have fun, that's all that is expected of a 6gc meet.

Haha, right. How many meets have NOT ended up in someone's car needing something fixed .

i would be lucky to make it to Cali by June 5th...and even if i did thats kind of soon for meeting up because i dont knw the area at all and i will have things to get ready and settle in...but anytime after that would be great, i think i will be doing your typical 8-4 type job so i will have plenty of time in the evening and free weekends

So this will give me a great chance to meet new people and make some new friends.

Well, I would be down for June 5th, unless something comes up for Jeff or my timing belt goes out, I am going there June 5th for sure.

Well alright. June 5th, unless something comes up for Jeff. I just need to find a HID kit that I can purchase locally. I might not have the money to order one in time and will have it June 2nd. Know of any place around Torrance I can find one for the lows?

I don't know Torrance too well. Why do you need them by June 2nd? I'm only running 1 HID right now because it's bright enough for me . haha actually I had a bulb go out, and I'm going to go ahead and buy a new set. There's a place right next to my house that sells HIDs, but I live like 45 minutes away from Jeff.

Yeah that's what Jeff was telling me right now on messenger. So you are the guy who lives 45 minutes away, He said something like that is where he got his. The thing is, I might not have the cash til after June 2nd for a $140 HID kit. I don't trust eBay kits. Well hell, I wouldn't mind driving up that way. Are you north of Torrance? Because I am coming from Bakersfield. If not, I am sure I can find a kit....... I hope.

Yeah I am up North of Torrance. I used to remember how to get to Jeff's house without thinking about it. Now, I don't think I could find my way there if I tried. I believe he got his down the street from my house. I will be moving in June so you better hurry up! I actually have to buy another HID set soon. This whole 1 halogen/1 HID set up isn't working for me anymore. Where is Bakersfield at? I suppose I could google it right quick, but then again... it's more fun to ask.

Bakersfield is in Kern County about 2 1/2 - 2 hrs north of the Los Angeles area. Maybe 1 1/2 pending on how fast one drives. I am most certainly going up June 5th and desperately need to find a HID kit that day. I won't have enough until June 2nd for a set. What do I need for highs? 9006 and 4300k light? Or 6k light? I want whatever allows me to see the best.

Oh OH sorry for the thread jack, here you can have it back, I barely used it. Haha, but let me know when you are availible to attend a meet. I will set the next one for probably either 2nd or 3rd week of July. It will be my OFFICIAL last meet (that is, if I choose to have one). Even though there is a chance I will come back to SoCal to visit, I highly doubt I will take my Celica for a long time. The thought of rock chips makes me shutter...ooooo .

Well I sent my number and information to you, just give me a call any time. I talked to Jeff and we discussed the lights. He asked if you might come down and mentioned I should just give you the money for the HIDs because traffic is hell between his place and yours. Then he mentioned a friends brother. Because again, I won't have it until June 2nd and I am going there the 5th. Okay, now back to the thread. LOL sorry everyone.

Just starting to pack my stuff so i can hit the road on monday.
