ok so i tried to debadge my car of its GT and i got the GT off so there was glue left. so i used a flat head screwdriver to get some of it off, cause it was thick, then used some kind of wood cleaner (thats all i had) and paper towels and got a little more off but this wasnt working too well. so i tried the rough side of a sponge and got most of it off but now its a little faded in that area i tried waxing it and i think that helped a little but not much. it is still noticable and you can still kinda see the GT mark.

does anyone have any suggestions please??? is it possible to touch it up w/some paint or something?

Wait to see what someone says about this, but maybe get some mequires scratch X and gold class wax. Scratch X it then wax it. DONT USE TOUCHUP PAINT. >> that would be a mess. I would keep washing and waxing it. >>

To get glue off, i would recommend picking up some Bug & Tar remover. It wont damage the paint so long as u use a damp sponge or towel when ur done. After all the glue is off, use rubbing compound. Its a very mild abrasive, after that use a polish. All of those products can be found at ur favorite auto store.

If i were you i would go and buy some Mother's brand pre-cleaner wax. It takes out fade from paint like you wouldent believe, and it helps with swirlmarks really well, without an orbital buffer. I dont know if it will help with the badge mark, but after 2 years of swearing by the stuff, i have a hunch that it will take it right out. Just rememebr to wax the area you use it on, because it takes all the old wax off.

I used Holley carb cleaner and my finger nails to get eveything off, and I don't have any spots. It might be because my car is black, if it's still glue take your time and keep the glue wet and try to easily scratch the glue off.

good luck buddy, over here we have this stuff called t-cut, possibly similar to scratch x, give that a whirl, it worked for similar problems for me in the past >>

Another good thing to get old adhesive off with is lamp oil. (k-mart or walmart), not sure about emblem glue, but it works great on other stuff, like old dried duct tape or masking tape.
On the bike forums, I've read they use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the emblem til it pops off.

Use WD-40 and elbow grease, then use any wax. My cheap turtle wax did the job. I bet what you are seeing is the glue. I love the way it looks.

Use the Bug Remover or anything sofar suggested then I would not only wax but i would just buff it out. I just did it today to my friends Civic it worked great.

ok, i got all the glue and stuff off! yaaay! actually i dont know if it looks good in daylight yet cause it's dark out. the only thing left is there are some thin scratches >> along the outside of where GT was. its not all the way around but it is pretty noticable...is there anything i can do about that? if there is that is great but im not sure i can do anything about it. coulda been from the screwdriver >> (I'm a dumbass) oh well, if theres nothing you can do then why worry.

P.S. i used that bug and tar stuff, it works great!
