Try "rinsing" the grease and grime off that sponge... hmmm.
Wash it with Orange hand cleaner tongue.gif

on RC cars you can clean the foam filters with gasoline. not sure if it would be safe with these or not.
doubt you can just replace the foam though.
i want to get an HKS mushroom personally but they are like 300 bucks for a real one. frown.gif

thanks for the useless information, i need real info on this. do you have to oil it like the regualr cones is all i want to know.
These are throw away if I recall (good luck removing all the dirt that gets trapped inside..and the dust that also goes into the engine.

I have this in my car, actually the same R1 brand too but i have the dual filter version, meh it looked cool haha.
Anyway, I just take it off and wash it through with a hose then dry it with a blowdryer.
And no, i don't think you need to oil it.

x2 - it's been well proven but still some people prefer the look so they still sell well. I had heard they have improved the filtration since that study tho.
Luckily for me the Apex'I one both matches the look I'm going for and provides the best balance of gains/maintenance and most importantly filtration. biggrin.gif
