home stereo sub - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58825 10 posts Started by gottaknowmo6gc
ok i dont kno much about the whole audio electrical wiring stuff (trying to learn more!!)... but i was wondering if there is a way to hook up my home stereo subwoofer to my car?
possible? yes.
practical? no.

go for the aftermarket deck+amp+speakers+seperate amp+subwoofers. surely it is more expensive than something you already own, but the sound quality, practicality, and enjoyability will be enough to sway you.

otherwise.. where would you mount the speakers? you would also need to get an inverter and tap ur speaker lines for the subs. im not even sure if it'll work actually lol.

good luck!
yes it can be done easily,go to crutchfield.com they are the best when learning how car audio works...

BANNED. for life, you moron.
the resistance of home vs car audio is very different. so not recommended. Yes i have tapped into my sytem (OEM) to get a subwoofer line. But im using car subs and not home subs...

Tapping is easy, but you need different things in order to accomplish this....

well honestly it depends on what your actually putting in your car
if you want the whold sub/amp box in your car... not the easiest idea

but if you want only the sub, and you'll use a car audio amp to power it... well

i have a home theater sub in my celica and it sounds AMAZING i hit over 130 dB with it
i paid 200 for the sb and about 300 for my 1200 RMS amp.
