Got my SS-III splitters - now what color should I paint them? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58847 13 posts Started by shaunrichard
Okay, here's my car:

I have the gun metal rims and the charcoal "skirt" that my understanding was a dealer option on the convertibles. I was thinking of painting the splitters to match the skirt and rims rather than the green body color, but then I thought I might enlist some expert opinions from the forum. So, what say you?

I went ahead and painted one of the splitters gray and put it on with one bolt just to see how it would look. What do you all think?

I may go ahead and buy some green paint and hit the other one to see how that would look as well. Repainting isn't that hard.

imo, match the car. Having the splitters a different color would look like you bought them from a charcoal colored car and didn't bother to paint them.
go charcoal, or black, matching with the curren tails

I'd say go with the body color, but if the mini skirt wink.gif is charcoal, then IMprofessionalO the splitters should match the miniskirt. Continuity wins.
I voted for charcoal just for the fact that your skirts are same color but if you're planning to repaint the skirts or the whole car then I'd say go with the same color of the car.

i say go with the body color, it would probably look like you just havent painted them if its a different color from the body IMHO
but a photoshop of the charcoal might be nice

I say body color, I think it looks much cleaner. Check my profile, I have the same body color as you. smile.gif

Sweet. But I notice you have body color skirts, too. That's where the choice comes in. Of course, I could get some real skirts and go green the whole way, but then what would we talk about? biggrin.gif

I'd match them to the color of the car. It doesn't look too bad in gray from the side just b/c of the stock side skirts, but from the front it probably wouldn't look right b/c that's all green.

Okay, the overwhelming vote, and especially bluevert's input have convinced me I should go green. At the very least I'll still paint one green and see how it looks. Thanks for all the input. smile.gif
