Kind of a noob dash question - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58996 10 posts Started by shaunrichard
Did our dash ever come in any color other than black? Does anyone make a replacement in another color? I ask this because now that I have my exterior almost how I want it, I'm starting to work on the interior. I have the standard black with tan carpet, seats, and door inserts. I also have leather covers coming in for my seats in tan as well. Now I want to make the dash more visually appealing. I am aware of the myriad inserts that are available, but none of them seem like they would look quite right.

I did do a precursory search, and I've also looked through GriffGirl's "Post your interior" thread, but I'm still kind of short on ideas. Any suggestions (besides quit whining and asking stupid questions)?

Thanks.

They do look pretty cheap for the most part. Some of them are just OK.
I've never seen a tan leather dashboard on a 6gc before tho.

PS. I hate that damn tan on black anyway - need a spare carpet, headliner and visors?

Our dash only came in Black. I suppose it would've been easier to put up a WTB on black carpet, and get some black/gray OEM seats.

I'm not that big a fan, either, but it works ith the tan over green vert. All my interior stuff is black except the carpet, seats, and door panel inserts. I might go with the black carpet - mine's stained and I have black mats over it anyway. We'll see.

Convertible + black leather + Virginia = charred a** biggrin.gif

I'll stick (slightly less) with the tan seats.

The Beams (SSIII's) had a gun-metal/anthracite colour for the stereo+handbrake trim as well as the air-vent to the drivers side.....

He's looking for the whole dash... not RHD trim pieces.

Why must you have leather? You can get standard black cloth seats. No sticky.

A company (i forget their name) will make a custom dash "cover" for you. It'll look like the poofy-glue on sh!t that it is though. (i bought one years ago, never again, never agin...)

I'd do it 100% custom. Or glaze. I plan to glaze my dash when i get the chance. But intill then, i dont think there is a how to on it yet. PM me with questions, or else wait till i post a how-to sometime by the end of the year.

There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid people for not asking questions wink.gif

I just prefer leather. It doesn't stain as easily, it's more durable, if I f- up and leave the top open and it rains it doesn't soak in as easily, and leather just smells so nice! biggrin.gif

I've always thought that convertibles should have leather interiors by default. Besides, I already ordered the tan leather covers. I better like 'em! wink.gif

I'm thinking about something like that. I recently discovered products when I was in Advance the other day such as vinyl paint and plastic paint. I may not go with the specific types of things that I saw, but it got me to thinking about what other options I might have. What exactly does glaze do and what does it turn out like?
