Hey I had a quick question for anyone who has a California State legal header (probably DC sports or some other legit maker). What does it have on it to indicate it is CA state legal? The intakes have a CARB # on a little plate, is it similar with the exhaust headers? If anyone has one and could post a pic or describe it in some detail I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Any one have a CA legal header - I have a question - 6G Celicas Forums
i dont know of any legal header, however in the 7th gen world we discovered and dyno proven that port matching the stock header made more power than any aftermarket header.

True but compare your stock 5S header to the 7th gen stock and you'll see where the difference lies. The stock 7th gen header is pretty decent whereas the stock 5S header [On celicas - better on Camry's] is pretty damn restrictive.

Just make sure you dont delete any cat's and it should continue to be legal.
And if you must delete a cat, then put another one in at the muffler shop, somewhere down the line.

Well there is a cat on the original header that was deleted but there is still one further down the line. I doubt smog shops memorize what each header looks like and since most don't have cats I'm just trying to figure out what would indicate an aftermarket header was CA state legal? Has anyone passed smog with an aftermarket header in CA?

there is no legal header in CA for a 5s.
Not sure if this is true, but I heard that if a header has a vin number on it, I guess from manufacturer, it will be legal. Although again, this person has not knowledge on our cars and he is only 19/20. I don't think that is correct information but you can ask your local smog testing location.

I believe the legal header (non made for our car, as far as I know) has a C.A.R.B. logo welded onto it. On this piece I believe it has a number which indicates that it is legal to have. Also, I think when you buy them legit (like from the manufacturer) it comes with a sticker that you are suppose to put somewhere under your hood. This is for when a cop pulls you over and makes you pop the hood, you have proof that its legal.
I've been wanting to purchase some DC headers from a random car (cheapest possible) and cut off the C.A.R.B. logo and have it welded to my non-street legal header. Then just put the sticker under my hood....

OK it sounds like there is no street legal header for the 6G - probably because there is a cat built right onto our headers. So does anyone know what a CA street legal header for ANOTHER car looks like. Is it a carb plate and sticker and if so can we get a pic of these?

It has An Executive Order (EO) Number stamped into it. Nothing fancy.
