ok I though this would be a nice topic to talk about I know they say the wider the gap the better the current can make the spark burn the combustion chamber my question has anyone with a celica try to go beyond the OEM spec I think is .042 has any try to go beyond and get a better spark by doing this on a celica that is stock. I know if the gap is to long then the combustion can burn out the spark if the gap to big and misfire will happen. So just a question to bring up with all the tech celica fans.

i gap my 7afe's plugs to .02-.03 over spec with out any problems other than a slightly rougher idle. off idle the engine feels a little more peppy, could just be in my mind.

I put autolite in because I got them for free at school so I adjust the gap about .05 over and it runs fine wonder if I should go to .50 oem spec is .43 right now they are at .48. I am thinking about buying NGK spark plugs if anyone has NGK in there car now just stock celica what kind did you buy? Was it worth the extra money?

I got the NGK iridium plugs. Engine seems a lil more peppy and my exhaust note sounds a lot nicer. Idles really smooth too.

Iridium is good plug but you can't play with the gap on them you get what you get. I heard lots of people happy with Iridium plugs just to much money I think for my wallet when copper I can change every 4000 and adjust the gap.
