'72 Celica Dragon Badges INSTALLED!! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #60008 13 posts Started by -Samurai-
I just got these installed yesterday...took a lot of patience and measuring to get it just right because once you drill holes they are there and no going back lol. But luckily mine turned out almost perfect. I made a template and taped it to both sides and drilled where the holes went through the template. Did the same for the front bumper, that one was a little easier because theres already holes from the Toyota emblem, did mange to cover up one of the original holes but not the other...oh well...still looks good. I didnt get a chance to put the rear hatch Celica emblem on yet but my plans are to shave the emblems on the back and put on the cursive celica emblem were the original one was and put the 7th gen GT symbol where the original was. Tell me what you think...I thought they turned out awesome and give it unique look!!, and bringing back the classics. wink.gif biggrin.gif

good on the front..

bad on the sides
I think the front one looks good, but not the sides.
if you put the ones on the side behind the corner of the rear window then maybe.....kinda like the Junction Produce emblems......

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Yes but I think you should have put the side emblems behind the front wheel where they mount the limited badges - doesn't really look right where they are now. Did you drill those too? You know you could have cut off the little guides and used double sided tape right?

i dont think having those behind the fron wheel well would look good at all...i put them where the 1gc celica emblems were...i dont know why they would look right there, i think it looks good. you'd have to see them in person because maybe the pictures make them look bigger than they really are. Yes I drilled them, I know I could have used double sided tape.

You did ask for opinions - wasn't trying to offend you. However, did you happen to notice that Playr, Gottoyota and 808 all said the same thing? Perhaps, just maybe, the general opinion is that they don't look right there.
It's your car - if you like it like that then be happy and don't ask for others opinions. Many people don't like my choice of hood/bumper combination - so what? I do.
I will say I like it better after your explanation of why you chose those locations. Before it just seemed random - now I can see why you did it.
Again - wasn't trying to offend you.

I don't like your hood/bumper combo either. wink.gif
not feelin the sides either. you should have put them on the fender like where the 25th anniversary ones are. sucks that u drilled holes in the side.

BUT what matters is that you like them. smile.gif

Looks good, If you like them, then it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
The sides look like garbage. But, your ride, your taste. Just don't ever come do it to mine in secrecy.
