Passenger window problems - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #60096 14 posts Started by RickJamesBish
I'm sort of getting frustrated. I've had problems with my sunroof (http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=59647) and now my passenger side window. Got in, started the engine (hasn't been driven for a week or so) and lower the windows as I usually do, only to find out my right one won't comply. There's no whirr from the motor, and it doesn't struggle either. It just doesn't do anything.

Please help.
Sounds like you have a wiring issue. If it's just the pass. window & not the d.s., check your connections where it comes into the cabin from the door (under the dash/glove box, down by where your right foot would be). It's a good place to start at least!
Thanks. I already checked the fuse box for anything, and it looks intact...so I just checked under the glove box, but I have no idea what to look for. I checked everything that was visible and the wires are all safely attached as far as I can tell.
Have you checked the button that stops the passengers window is not depressed?

Yeah. Neither one of the DS/PS buttons for the right window work.
pull the switch panel out of the p/s window and make sure it's plugged in securely. Unplug and replug it. I bet it's just loose or something.
Where is the switch panel located, and what does it look like?

Assuming it's under the glove box?
by panel, its where the buttons are located, pull up at the bottom and the top has a clip pull down after you undo the bottom to pull it out
Okay, so I have no idea how or why, but I'm just thankful. I was just randomly trying the window hoping it would just fix itself and work, but to no avail. Apparently somebody up there was listening. Had a lady friend in the car and shes opened the window before I could tell her it doesn't work, but it opened anyways. Same deal with the sunroof. It opens and closes fully now, except the motor seems like it might be working a tad bit too hard.

I'll still get it checked out, but I'm just glad that it finally works now.

And even though I know it's not the cause, this happened right after I put a full tank after 900 miles of just filling it partially. Coincidence I guess.

Must've been the blinker fluid reservoir was clogged.
Have the same problem...
Window Problem

If i am correct, i hope not, your window will get stuck again.
I am still looking for a solution by the way... kindasad.gif
I HAD a similar problem...take off the plastics to the pass door. There is a wire there that apparently came lose for me and once I pushed it back in everything worked fine. Also, try looking at BOTH controllers on the door handle and push them in tightly.

That sucks...I'm hoping it's just fixed, although usually things don't just fix themselves...
