I'm trying to find a good spacer that is decently priced, that will get my wheels out just a bit more. I don't want the wheel to rub on the fender if I hit a bump, because I'm lowered, so I was thinking 5mm in the back and 2mm in the front?

This will be for my GTS wheels. What do you guys recommend?

5mm? it's going to be hard to notice any difference... 2mm is virtually nothing

why not just measure how much more mm the sidewall of your tires can go before hitting the fender/quarter panel?

5mm is good enough for DD with these and a tein drop. imma be putting 10mm though. GO 10mm GO!!!

I work at advance and let me tell you something about spacers. they are THE WORST thing you could do to your suspension next to cutting springs.

1. spacers put alot more stress on the bearing. usually the wider the spacer, the faster the bearing will wear out since there is a force multiplication with distance from the bearing. It doesnt matter if you have a tapered bearing or one thats pressed into a hub. They WILL go out. I cant think of a tangible number that accurately represents the amount of people buying all four bearing from me. sometimes at $125 a pop is it really worth it to pay $500 to space your ride?

2. They put more strain on ball joints. just as before, the additional distance increases the load. I've had people walk in with balljoints that completely seperated after hitting a nasty bump. they say "I dont know what happened!" I say: "do you have a spacer" they say "yea its awesome" I say "yea... yea it is. thats $35 for a new ball joint + I have to order" they say: "f you im going to zone" i say "bye have a good day" *half an hour later* they say "zone is more expensive"

my two cents. I cant wait for people to say they had spacers for years without a problem. ill call it as i see it and every day i sell a few sets of bearings.

i have 5mm and i had no problems for a year; not trying to be sarcastic or anything, i know there is a limit, and that's why i didnt got 10mm right away. the 5mm just eases that "sucked in" look a little, but like running boost........you want MORE!!

im bumping this up becaus i was seriously considering spacers for my car...not 5mm or 2mm but i was thinking like 25mm..im pretty sure thats like an inch if not more...i want my ride as wide as possiable...has anyone else heard bad things about this and going through wheel bearings and what not? who is running spacers and have you come across this problem?

i dunno man...im looking for a nice difference...i'll try 15 but i would really like to go as wide as i can....but if its gonna cost me more money and problems in the long run then i wont bother..basically just looking for more horror stories

i heard they r bad 2.. but as with everything, it's prob ably only a problem if u go 2 wide (5mm+?)... and i think also if u don't get extended studs and u got really wide ones, ur wheels would just fall off?

but i do hv 3mm spacers for the front of my civic.. it was necessary for the rims to fit over... i'd think as long as it's < 5mm it should b ok? not 100% tho

They ALL put unnecessary strain on the suspension etc.

I would put my 10 year old + parts to any more strain than necessary.
