How was the Imax version? I read that the viewing dimensions change throughout the movie due to the two different cameras (Imax, non Imax) used? Was that weird?

It did have 2 different viewing dimensions. The movie opens up in Imax film - during the opening bank scenes. Then it will cut down to the normal 35mm, and then certain scenes will go back to large format IMAX. It didn't bother me in the least, it was a treat to be completely immersed flying over "Gotham" and that last scene where he's on the batpod, really cool looking too.

awesome movie but i must say the way batman talks almost makes me laugh. i know hes trying to disguise his voice and be a BA but cmon its a little over the top. sounds like i need to see the imax version.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

always has to be one negative dickhead, yes he may of possibly been able to prevent it but it still was an accident and he didn't mean it, It happened, everyone makes mistakes just not everyone dies from them.

I'm not a comic book movie lover but this was definitely a great movie wink.gif 4.5/5

laugh.gif at you people trying to defend if he did it on accident or not. ignorance. bottom line is you don't know but you can assume what you want. The argument at this point is irrelevant because he's dead.

now to be on topic.

The movie was good, I loved the quality of the Joker character was impeccable. Heath did a great job with his roll and I see very few roles played so well. The movie as an entirety gets roughly 8/10 for me.>> Some of the main plot decisions changed (so it appears) such as Two-Face dieing before really becoming and involving the character as in the comics back in the day.>> I do like the evolution and maturity of the Batman character and think Christian is probably the best "recent" Batman so far.

saw it at the Drive-In movies and will go see it in IMAX again.

Girl who played Rachel wasn't as hot as Katie Holmes though.

^ But was a lot better actress.

Addendum: they're both kinda yucky.

Dan you MIGHT want to put a spoiler code around some of your text.

Spoiler: Highlight if you want to see.

It was never confirmed that Harvey actually died. It wasn't THAT far of a fall, so they may just be keeping it under wraps, and pretending he died to protect his reputation & the city.

I was a bit disappointed that katie holmes wasn't in it.
The girl they used was a total butter face. Reminded me of whats her face, playing mary jane in spider man.
Katie might not be a great actress, but I think she sells the part of a love interest a little better then this girl did.

I heard some rumors that the original idea was to have the 3rd movie be based on the trail of the joker, but since Heath died, they wont go with that plot anymore.

They'll still have joker. It's just make up.

They didn't want Katie back because she was promoting her relationship with Tom.

You don't seriously believe that do you? There is a lot more to movies and acting besides makeup. I would be very shocked if they even tried bringing in another actor to attempt Heath's style.

Not after the real life death of the previous actor - they almost never do that.

I hope they dont recaste it. If i could right the next movie lol i woud have a seen in Arkham Asylum with him in a dark padded cell bieng crazy..That way you dont see too much of his face.
Just saw the movie, its definitely worth watching in theaters. I completely agree with the comment about batmans voice, Especially in the scene when jokers hanging upside down. Other than that its a great movie, but I wouldn't say one of the best ever. I think the LOTR series holds that title personally.
Honestly.. it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I left a little disappointed. I guess I had insanely high expectations for this movie.. I just.. I don't know. I thought Iron Man was better, honestly. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie.. just not as great as I thought it would be. Two Face was seriously awesome though.. the effects.. wow. And the Joker looked sexy in his little vest. Ugliest girl ever to play Rachel though.. she has a dog face.

First - they'll NEVER have the Joker again. Heath's performance can NEVER be replicated and nobody will try.

Second - Katie refused to do the movie. They offered her 2 mil to reprise the role.

Saw it in IMAX - whoa. It was epic and screen transitions were flawless.

Highlight:>>I'm a little confused about who the 5 cops where that dent killed (as mentioned in the last exchange between gordon and bruce)? I only count a couple... >>

Do not highlight if you haven't seen the film:

I'm pretty sure Batman just mentioned 5 deaths, which I think includes Harvey, but I'm not sure. The 4 others are Maroni, his driver, the one cop in the bar, and Ramirez I don't think they showed actually getting killed, but she admitted to being under Maroni's control.

just saw it (second showing here), great movie, and a lot better than i expected. Heath Ledger did a great job, a lot better than jack nicholson.

I saw it for a 2nd time on friday, and I could see it again and still really enjoy it. I rarely see movies in the theater more than once.

MyFlickrMyeBay_Perpetual Aperture_
x2. i've never watched a movie more than once in theaters unless it was free. i saw the midnight premiere and i saw it again last thursday. still havent seen it in imax so a 3rd time is very likely.

ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.
I saw it three times and woulf probley go again if someone wanted me to.
Finally went and saw it on the weekend, I was surprised how dark the movie was. Great movie.

It is definitely a movie to see in the cinemas. No illegal watching of that one.

Saw it in imax last night and what is there to say its just amazing...the movie speaks for itself if you see it you will love it trust me. I would love to see it again and the only other movie I have seen twice in theaters is Batman Begins this will prob be the second that one I see twice.

I saw it again this last weekend and I can't deny it anymore - it reminded me very much of The Crow which has been a fav comic of mine since a few years before the movie. The first time I saw it I was like "Oh it's just because both movies had a major actor die before it was released" but the second time it just has a very similar feel. I'm sure some of you hardcore Batman fans will come down on this but it's just my take from a very longtime comic reader from waaay back [No I don't read comics anymore cause sadly there's very little left to read in them - they're just big splashy pages and horribly thought out "plotlines" nowadays kindasad.gif ].
Did anyone else watch this and then go immediately home and watch the Tim Burton Batman? Anybody else notice some very similar, but not comicbook derived, manerisms from Joker to Joker? The smacking of the lips [Yeah they both did it several times, check Nicholson's joker out again - kinda obvious why the Ledger version did] and several other little things I noticed but can't quite put my finger on. Anyone think maybe some of that was on purpose?
IDK - I'd judt like to see this thread progress beyond "I saw it - was great" blah blah. I'd like to see some serious discussion on such an epic movie.
BTW - Whoever's idea it was to show the Joker in shadow in his cell at Arkam during the next movie - if done right that's really great idea. I always liked the walk down that hallway with all the madmen behind bars etc.
The cameo from scarecrow was perfectly done - just enough. I sincerely hope two-face will come back [I really don't think he'll stay dead] - this is the first time I've ever been able to take that character seriously and the burnt side of his face was just wicked biggrin.gif

I can totally see where you're coming from with the assimilation of Dark Knight to The Crow. I think it's the use of color throughout the movie. Both of them are literally dark as well as "dark themed". Lots of cool blues balanced by neutral greys and tans and browns in both movies. Use of color in movies can be very focal (The Sixth Sense is a GREAT example of this) and in both of those movies, the color was used to evoke a mood as well as to further denote the general sense of darkness/good vs. evil; the "when is good evil and when is evil good" paradox throughout the movie.

>>(Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.) I took this Film and Cinema class in college (art school for those of you who don't know already) and that was one of the concepts we covered/explored. I never watched movies before taking that class; they were a constant let-down for me. I felt like I was missing out on an integral part of our culture though, so I took the class, and it opened me up to a whole new perspective with movies. I've always been really glad I took that class!>>

Anyway, back on-topic. I'd go see it again... I'd really like to see it in an iMax theater next time!
That was my idea!!lol.. I have also been a comic fan for years and agree with you after reading alot of older comics it seems todays are just "pretty pictures". I am hoping for riddler in the next one. If they make him go along the same creepy and dark road the the joker and even the scarecrow was the it should be awsome.
