What is this grinding noise?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #6053 6 posts Started by Silver99GT
So I have noticed that almost every time I accelerate from either a complete stop or moving slowly (ie. accelerating thru a turn) I hear this grinding or crackling noise. Its not real loud but you can definately hear it. Some one said get your fuel injectors cleaned so I took it to the dealer...still does it. Anyone have any ideas what it could be and how to repair?
Thanks
Candace
it might not be anything under your hood... it might be your rotor or bearing, axles. or transmission(lets hope it's not that) but can you be more specifice about the griding noise? can you tell from wich side of the car it is? do you ever smell something burnning?

it isnt your fuel injectors it is your timing belt tention roller... same with my car CRY CRY it cost 150-300 bones... >frown.gif> for the new belt and roller to be installed BLAH! well good luck!
If its not that, theres a chance its your exhaust. On my moms car it sounded like it was winding up and then grinding and it was her exhaust.
It maybe your cv joints.

If you turn your car while accelerating, you will hear it.

If you are going in a perfect straight line, you would not hear it.

Let a garage check it for you.
