I just bought a set of Sportline's, and I also ordered the KYB GR-2's. I bought these from tirerack.com. But when I bought them, I only saw cartridge inserts for the front and strut housings for the rear. Am I missing something? Is the front not the same as the rear? Also, do I need the alignment kit? I've heard that I don't.

The cartridges slip into the stock strut housings. it's no big deal

I really don't think you will need an alignment kit for a 1.5" drop. When you have them installed, just get them to allign the wheels, and you'll be good.

I don't think you'll need an aligment kit.
I have KYB GR-2's / B+G springs with a 1.6" drop and its fine.
The only problem I came across was taking the old cartridges out of the front strut assembly. I couldn't undo the retaining "plastic" nut so I got a local garage to do it for me. (He charged me $5 to remove the old cartridges and put the new ones in).
You'll need a spring compressor as well.
The ride and handling is great. >
