Ok well, my parents have decided to let me get a tattoo. i have decided to get one over my ribs on my side. I know its one of the most painful spots to get a tattoo but im sure i can handle it. One of my ideas is to have my skin look like its ripping, and on the inside have a turbo and parts of an engine to make it look like that i am "turbocharged" and part car haha. i think its s neat idea. Cars are my passion and i cant think of something else that means alot to me. If anyone has any suggestions on a tattoo, opinon about my idea or things to add it would be greatly appreciated

Just word of advice: don't get a tat just to get one.

trust me, i know. ive thought about this for a long time. someone should always get a tattoo of something that means alot to them. Cars mean alot to me. im goin to college for it and plan on makeing somethin of myself becasue of it. I dont wanna get a make or model of a car on me. So ive been tryin to come up with ideas of a tattoo that has to do with cars. thats the best ive come up with so far. I am honestly not a person to just get a tattoo cause it looks cool or i just feel like getting one. ive wanted one since i was young and have though long and hard about the whole thing.

I would say dont get a tattoo, wait a while here r my reasons...

1. Your young, if you have 2 ask for a tat, u dont need one.
2. Tats r not "neat" they are painful.
3. U said u have thought about it 4 a long time, how could you when your like 18 or 19?
4. And it seem like a tat is only appealing to you bcuz u were not allowed 2 get one b4.

not trying 2 give u a hard time just telling the truth. And now a days if u want to make a statement and stand out, DONT get a tat. When i see tats now i just think of a lame testament to trying to fit in.

If you need to ask random people on a celica forum about getting a tattoo, then you shouldn't get one.


If you're going to mark your body permanently it should be something that is really important and significant to you, you shouldn't need to ask the opinions of people who don't know you.

Everyone is going out and getting tattoos, apparently it is uncool to not have one. Tattoos do not work in the business world. I have friends and family members who regret getting them as it is looked down upon by their coworkers and ultimately their boss. Same **** with people enlarging their ears. Have fun working in a proper business environment (outside of Cali) that will put up with it. The government and their contractors sure wont.

My take: If you are going to get one, think VERY hard about what you want, because you're essentially stuck for life with it. Yes, they can be painful depending on where you get it. I got one on the palm of my hand and that was excruciating and I tend to think I have a high tolerance for pain. Sides, under arm, and feet are all supposed to be quite the killers too.

But like I said, make absolutely sure what you're getting is what you're willing to live with, because you'll always have it.

ok,Im not tryin to make a statement. im not gettin a tattoo because i wanna "FIT IN" or be cool. i could care less what people think of me. and as days go by the world is being able to except people with tattoos.I could care less about the "buisness world". Im not going to work at some lawfirm or office where i need to where a suit an tie. even if i was it wouldnt matter because the tattoo would be on my side(that means no one would see it). Alot of my family has tattoos(that have a meaning). ive been wanting to get a tat since i was about 15 but i wanted to wait because i would still grow. so i would think about what to get and what means something to me. I am now 17 and will be 18 in about 4 months. im not goin to grow to the point where i will stretch a tattoo out. Ive been accepted into college already. So i know i will be successful. i will be working with cars the rest of my life. its what i love to do. So why not get a tattoo of something automotive related? Also, i didnt post this in a celica forum. it is posted in off topic. ive met alot of people on 6gc for the year or so that ive had my celica. I think of 6gc as a 2nd family. everyone is usually nice and will help you out if u have a problem. I wrote this to see if any artistic people had any thing that would be cool to change around on my tattoo.

my parent are letting me get one because they know i wont regret it. ive asked them b4 and they told me to think hard about it. i did. they understand my passion is cars so they know i will be happy with the tattoo

harold- how about for once you talk to someone with tattoo's that acctually have a meaning behind it? you might acctually make a new friend. if your judgeing people cause the stretch their ears and have tattoos on their body than IMO your less of a person than they are. Your friends and family members were probably the ones who got a tatto to fit in. people who do that normally end up hating their tattoos. So maybe your should preach to your family memebr b4 they haul off and get a tat for no reason. I have a reason, once again, I love cars. I am attending college for it. UTI. they are one of the most succesful automotive schools around.

I got my first tattoo when I was 16, big regret. Second tattoo when I was 18, on my FOREARM. Even bigger regret, as I am about to graduate, and I know I will probably have NO LUCK in finding a job as a teacher.

Just get something you know you could never regret, for the rest of your life. From your posts, it seems like you're not going to regret it, and you are going to love it.

Also, if you get a large tattoo.. just so you know.. you'll probably have to keep retouching it throughout your lifetime, as it will start to look terrible over the next 10 years or so.

when im 60 i dont think im gonna care what i look like haha. but im going to an artist who knows what will look good 20-30 years down the road and how to tattoo it so it wont look like ass

Dude, this was way out of control. You totally went off the deep end on this, and he's not even incorrect. Tats while becoming more popular, are not the cream of the crop in the corporate world. You do not see CEOs with tattoos. People judge, this is what they do. Everyone does it. So if John Q. Riley goes and has his ears gauged and tats up his forearms, its going to effect the way people perceive them. Is it impossible to do anything in corporate america with tats everywhere, no. It's just harder.

ok, the kid is asking for opinions ABOUT the tattoo HE decided on getting. He's not asking for permission from you guys that are negative. Yes, I have tattoos. And yes, people are very opinionated on how I look with them. But that's their opinion. In the business world, there's something called INTERVIEWS to see how well qualified the person is for the job. They're not judging a beauty contest. Tattoos are now being more acceptable in society then when it was 10 years ago. IMO SeverX13, if you really thought about this long and hard and you still want it, then by all means, go for it. My own mother is Mormon, and she has tattoos from when she was a USMC MP! That was the 80's! Come on people! This topic is getting out of hand, though. People should think about what they want to say b4 they say it. We're here to help, not harm...
