Rubber insulation around headlights!!?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #60718 15 posts Started by Tech-Nics
Is there a way to keep the rubber insulation for the headlights from coming out. I'm always fixing them. I tuck them in pretty tight, then after driving around I have to always push them back in. Any ideas?

Thanks.
The same thing happens to my left headlight rubber. I haven't been able to fix it either frown.gif
same problem here i think im gonna try superglue i will let you know how it works! kindasad.gif
I have that problem too with my headlights.

I'm modifying my newly bought JDM headlights and noticed that the rubber insulation was glued on the side of the glass.

Maybe you can use glue or kit.
There are clips that hold the headlight lens to the housing.. although i don't think they're absolutely necessary so i relocated some of the clips and made it so they clamp the rubber seal to the housing instead. Also, just to be safe I used strong glue to hold it in in case these clips were to come off (which they tend to btw). For this, you'd of course need to take your bumper off to get to the headlights which is extra work kindasad.gif.

Take off the rubber, apply clear silicone and this should stop the slippage for a few months. It will go back to what it is now because the bonnet, fenders and the bumper shake while you drive causing the rubber to slip off. e-11 corollas have the same problem.
I had to laugh out loud when I saw this thread, because I'm constantly tucking in my passenger side rubber "seal" and there are no words to describe the sheer aggravation it causes me. I'm OCD enough as it is without some damn rubber circle constantly rearing its obnoxious-ass self at me... mocking me, day in and day out... laugh.gif

Oh but I'll get the last laugh yet. You wait little rubber seal, victory shall be mine! Muwahahahaha
Clear silicone sealant FTW smile.gif

rofl. its amazing to find out my fury is universal. I solved it by fixing the clips. thats how its supposed to be but they tend to work loose after....years. so no glue necessary thumbsup.gif
i tried to buy those damn clips at toyota and the guy laughed at me...said i had to buy the entire headlight lol.

so i just glued them on
