the AWD and RWD discussions have been done, on many occasions. Many theories have came up, including off the wall 350 small blocks and ford rear axels to super rare toyota oem parts and freinkensteined suspension systems.
they usually end up the same way, locked, and with the same basic question.

I dont really care about other brands,i'm talking about only toyota/lexus parts.All i need to know is what engine can mount on what trany.I just thought there must be an rwd trany that fits our 5 0r 3s.I dont really care about the crazy off the wall projects about awd or rwd.

3sgte+2b bell housing (IIRC) with custom drive shaft
4age(blacktop) + altezza rwd tranny and rear end
4age(silvertop)+ae86 rear end with custom drive shaft.

is a 2S-C not a 2b, sometimes we can provide the info without the hassle.
you need a W58 transmission with a 2s bell housing ( from early 80's Celica ) that configuration will bolt to a 3s, there are a lot of other mods to male this work, but you should know that already if you're serious about this project. The hardest part is the 2s bell housing, they are extremely hard to find, I've heard about some companies custom making bell housings for this application but I don't know how reliable they are.

If you have the money and connections, just get a manual tranny from a toyota spacia and it'll bolt right up on the 3sgte, the spacia comes with a 3sfe and rwd from factory.
