V6 Mounts in a ST & GT - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #61347 6 posts Started by Legit94GT
So i know if you were to do a 3sgte swap you'd ideally want to have a gt, and having an ST requires adding different mounts, so If i drop in a V6 (3mzfe) does it matter which model i drop it into?

I know it requires different mounts but how different?
Like would it be easier to swap it into a ST or a GT?

Thanks

If you can find a thread on this... then show me the way, the V6 info thread kinda skips over that part... or i just cant read;)

Same basic rules apply off the top of my head. Snap and KESD would know more indepth but yes - Ideally you would want to start with a GT for Tranny and mount reasons [Unless of course you are doing the full swap and then it's just mounts? IDK - Something like that]

Ya i was going to email them but i figured if i posted it i would get a faster response:)

I would be getting a different tranny put it with the motor.

If you use the tranny from the donor car [Assuming e153 here - correct me if I'm wrong] then you're gonna need GT a mount for the front and DS mount and ST-205 for rear mount and I'm pretty sure they use a custom mount on PS side. Also I think you're gonna need custom axles and a spacer IIRC. Maybe shift cables, throttle cable too?
One of those guys will chime in soon.

Ya i know about the custom pass side, and axles, i was just wondering if i were to start with a GT would it be easier than a ST?

Cause i can pick up a ST for a lot cheaper than a GT...

Short answer then: yes [For all the same reasons as 3S swap]
