Hey guys, was wondering if you could help me out.

Right now I have a JDM 3vz installed with a MT ECU. 93 Turbo stock exhaust. No mods except for ebay intake right now.

The first time I got it inspected I had the ACIS mod on and with the 15yr old stock catalytic converter. So I failed the first 2 run, so I assume it could be the ACIS mod and the catalytic converter being so old.

First results:

So I upgrade it with a brand new catalytic converter for a 93 Camry app, then I took the ACIS mod off, and fueled it up at Shell with 93 octane.

Car idle at exactly 700rpm. Everything looks perfect, no fume smell present anywhere. I heard of Rxp and had to try it since it wouldn't seem to hurt. I heard a lot of good reviews for it.

I drove the car for about 30min to warm it up and to let Rxp do it's job.
So took again this morning with only 15mi on the new catalytic converter, after 15min of waiting. I failed... They suggest that I drive it some more and come back since the catalytic converter was still new.

Drove for another 60mi going no where and came back to test it and failed with the same results. wtf!?!?

EGR assy?

Where in Texas are you?

No egr on this motor when i got it. I'm in Ft Worth, TX

And there is your problem.

If you pass by Houston, Then let me know, we can get it taken care of

No i can not. Your sticker has to be registered to your vehicle. In the state of Texas your license plate can be ran, and if it's not showing a sticker that you have, then you will in violation of the law. You need to come up with a legitimate EGR system and correct the problem. You are polluting the air, and wasting fuel.

Try checking junk-yards for a cheaper system.

hmmm, they only check emmisions for cars 10 yrs old or newer here.....
i had no problem with my egr-less cat-less system even though it ran suuuper rich lol, but yes they scan your vin bar code in your door area....

That's in small town Texas - in alot of the major cities [Houston being the worst] they have emmissions across the board. I think the OP is from DFW area IIRC - they are supposedly as strict as here.

The guy pulls your car in the garage gets his scanner, scans your door and starts puttin the tag on!

No light checks no wiper checks nothing, zero checking of anything! Its great!

well there are shops in fort worth that do the same things as listed earlier but itll cost you like 90 bucks so its up to you man but you could get a ticket running through a emmsions testing thing b4 you get on the highway but that is up to you and speaking spanish helps thank god i dont need to do that but if you want check the shops on 28 st and around main

I got a sticker now. But for future reference I'll have to buy a egr set up. Now it's time to get the car painted yay
