I was thinking about this... Lucas oil makes a liquid for the tranny / clutch to stop slipping right?

So if mine slips once in a while, how about flushing and replacing the clutch fluid and add some of it ?

Would that help? Anyone tried?

anything would be a temp fix. Seems like u need new plates and springs depending on if its drag or slipping. Hopefully your not hard on your car and your clutch basket is not notched.

If your clutch is slipping thats means its time to replace your clutch.

thats what i was gonna say. almost sounds like he has a auto though cause he's talking about slipping unless his manual trans is popping out of gear.

i've never used the lucas trans additive, but if you do have a auto trans that is slipping, its more than likely the clutch pack materials are breaking down and a fluid flush isn't really gonna stop the slipping all together. you may be close to needing the trans overhauled. another question is how many miles do you have on the transmission and how often have you had the trans fluid flushed? if its been a long time since the last fluid flush (80k + miles), and if its an auto, i'd look into just doing the rebuild since the detergents in the new auto trans fluids will more than likely cause leaks. hope this helps in some way.

And i know all that stuff but what you dont know is that im going to school, i have a 3 weeks daughter and i'm not living at my parents house. On top of that im not working.

Therefore buying a clutch for a car that i dont ride during winter (which is in about 3 months) and that i dont even take to go to school wouldnt be a good idea even more when im selling it...

I can get an exedy for 80$ which is an awesome deal but dont have the time to change it myself and not the money to do it by someone else.

When i shift it feels as if my foot was still on the clutch when i give gas. Not always, but maybe 40 to 50% of the time ant 80-90% if i try to go WOT.

My friend told me about lucas oil for tranny use and i always put some inside my engine as a oil stabylizer so i tought why not and only wanted to know if someone did it or heard some stories....

not to get told by people that my clutch is dead and need to replace it... thats known fact, i said it in my first post

sucks you got bills and can't get your car running right soon, but hey, its life. if i were you, since you don't really drive it too much, just put the car on hold and swap out the clutch when you have the money/time. as far as the oil goes, putting in the additive isn't going to keep the clutch from slipping. sounds like the material is either worn down or the material and flywheel may be glazed causing the clutch not to hold all the time. good luck with the car, hope things go a little better for you.
