1998 Celica GT, White, MT, car has about 130k miles

Modifications:
Engine (Has):
-Remanufactured motor installed (all paperwork included; roughly 30k miles when installed around 115K)
-Injen Short Ram Intake
-GReddy SPII Catback Exhaust

Engine (Needs):
-Per Mr. T: Check for an oil leak (yey 5S-FE!)

Exterior:
-Few dings and dents that are common for a 98
-Euro/JDM Headlights and High Beams (the second light in the housing has been connected to working turn signals)
-Euro/JDM Tails

Suspension:
-Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs

Interior:
-Special Edition "Celica" embroidered seats (stock tan-leather seats taken out)
-Dynamat installed from rear seats to entire trunk
-Aftermarket Kenwood stereo with external USB port on face w/ removable face
-Kenwood iPOD adapter compatible w/ stereo
-TWM short shifter
-Carbon Fiber wrapped tweeter covers (from Vincent)
-Carbon Fiber gauge bezel (from PCP)
*no carpet, when received from Carmax, carpet was rotted and moldy, haven't replaced it yet

Other:
-Aftermarket car alarm, nothing crazy, just a regular one
-All the bits and pieces which include:
extra bolts/plastics/clips
original headlights & high beams (which you'll need if you want to get an inspection done)
original tail lights
aftermarket Kenwood stereo I received with the Celica when I bought it from Carmax

a cooling panel from someone on 6gc (from, I believe, Stevenson)
a not-used duckbill tail (from Romas)
parts needed for S2K antenna-conversion

I may have more but I can't think of it atm. This car is in great condition and runs awesome. It's my baby and I wanted to see if anyone on here wanted to take a gander since it's got a lot of celica-enthusiast parts that are either installed or will come with it.

NOTE: NO PARTING. If I can't get this sold I'll most likely just keep it as it's my child! It's not worth it to me to sell to Mr. T so help me out!

Dude. It's a Toyota. You already HAVE a car that can take a beating. Honestly, why give it up? You've already established a history with it, you know what to expect from it, and it's FWD which will be great for those crappy MD winters.

If you're bent on selling it though, 4k is very reasonable. It all depends on your market though - out here in the PNW, the car would probably go for 4500-5k or so, but that's because they're harder to find around here. But there, cars have lower resale in general because of the lovely salt on the roads I imagine, IDK. East coast cars just seem to have lower resale than west coast.

Depending on what year/model that Jetta is, I say you just do an even trade if you're really looking for something different. It'd be a good trade. (this coming from a Celica and Jetta family!)

Thanks for the input guys. Actually, I'm looking into the 'dark side!' A guy I work with has a 350Z and knows a dealer. I'm looking into an 07 with low miles that's gonna be stupid cheap and in great condition. I'm really torn though, like you said, I've got a car I'm extremely comfortable with and know 100% in and out.

I'm talking with someone right now that messaged me about my Celica, but I need to get it serviced as I just got back from the UK with it. It's got nearly no rust (besides the part where someone smacked my door with theirs) as the English are extremely efficient in checking and testing for a huge amount of things; 1 of those things includes rust as it rains like crazy over there!

Like I said though, this is just a feeler. I wasn't sure if anyone would actually think I had a good deal. I mean, I was offered to trade in the Celica along with a deposit for the Z, but seriously, it's got either on or with it lots of parts that a normal car-buyer wouldn't think twice about.

IMO you might do well then to remove the modifications that the average buyer won't care about (and that won't add to your trade in, most likely), restore it to stock and trade it for that Z. The Z is not the dark side, a Honda is the dark side!

If you part mods, I'd like first dibs at the projectors, skirts (if they come off), rear splitters and c/f gauge bezel. Am willing to trade OEM parts+ cash to replace those if you need.

Uh, that's cool. Honestly, I may have to leave the headlights on, I could take off the high beams but we wired on the projectors b/c the wiring/bulbs are a different setup. The tails I could get rid of too. But you're right, I'll have to see what all I can do for that. The bezel is already on the car, but I have an extra gauge face so I could essentially still get you that bezel. Skirts don't come off, they're a bit beat b/c of their age but they are/were stock. Ugh, I don't even want to talk about parting anymore! lol

I'll let you know what's up. Like I said though, I need to get some maint. done first. Luckily, my buddies' Dad is a Master Mechanic for Toyota! So hopefully he'll help out. That'd be cool.


On another note, I got 400 miles to the tank today! I filled up and didn't even realize until I went to reset that I've been getting rediculously awesome gas mileage!

Dude, tempting like you couldn't believe! I need more power. I was in Insanity-74's GT-4 and it was simply amazing...but since we can't get them here I need something else. I got into this long discussion the other day about whether or not a Supra would be a good idea. It was between a twin turbo Supra and an 07 Z (with the VQ35?). I just don't have the money to fix up a Supra...no matter how much I really really really want to!

Ok, I'm actually putting this up for sale now. I need to get a complete list together and see if I missed anything but see the first post about what all is included in the sale.

Kelley Blue Book says the price for 'Good' would be around $4870 but with the car having no carpet and no A/C, and a possible oil leak (who doesn't with a 5S-FE!?) I'm willing to work on that price a bit. I did, however, get the motor mounts replaced by Mr. T and those weren't cheap. I'm thinking $4K.

I'm actually in VA atm, but can deliver depending on how far you are. I'm in zip 20148 which is Brambleton/Ashburn.

I have a full history of my ownership since Carmax's and I can provide absolutely everything to you.

This car just passed MD state emissions!

The A/C stopped working after the motor got installed. Don't know why or how but I never used it anyways which is probably why I never got it fixed. The parts are listed up top, but can get pics of them no problem. I'm living in VA but some stuff is still in MD so some pics will have to wait for next week time-frame so I can go get them!

does the jdm headlights mean projectors? because its not mentioned in the first post but griffgirl mentions them and u talk about them... is it projector style without the clear lenses?

yes, but there are also jdm lights with no projectors. also, in his profile pictures, they do not look like projector headlights, which is why im inquiring. i know what projector headlights look like. so im assuming that he does not have the projector type IF his profile pictures are accurate.

bhawk, i do actually have projectors. like i said, i need new pics. I've got the projector heads, clear highs, and jdm tails. all of which i bought brand new when i was overseas and they were imported from belgium...will try to get pics today...a bit rainy though, and me no likes the rain!

Actually I've got no timeline atm. My story is that I was going to get a Z if I got a new job. Well that didn't happen. So now I'm looking at my Dad's Jeep that he doesn't drive and my parents just went on vaca for a week and he needs to make a damn decision still...he's back and forth which is putting me in a crappy situation. So no timeline!
