I just picked up an alpine deck CDA-7894. There are no place for RCA cables on the deck, anyone know how this works? I need the RCA plugs for my amp.

uh well then u cant run an amp off of it....

I gotta find a way, its supposed to be one of the best head units alpine ever made, the guy i bought it from said something about having 4volt preamp outputs instead of most decks with only 2volt, which make it sound soo much better.

did you buy it used? the text says you should have 3 sets of rca preouts.
if you cant figure it out, pick up a couple of adjustable line out converters from your local best buy
these "create" rca's by tapping into the speakers, they are mostly used by people who want a sub on their factory head unit.

This is my full setup:

Two 200W 6.5" Phoenix gold speakers in front
Two 200W 5.25" Phoenix gold speakers in rear
One 600W 12" Phoenix gold sub
One 800W Sony Xplode amp
One 1.5 Farad Capacitor
Alpine CDA-7894 head unit

*PLus I have an extra 4-channel amp that Im deciding wether or not to amp the speakers.

I can't wait to throw my Alpines in.

I think I found the place where the rca lines WERE. There are 6 (bit thicker than speaker wire) wires all in one harness but have been cut off from the base leaving only .5inch of each sticking out. So should I get some rca wires and just extend them or is it more to it than that?

That is / was the rca outputs. Good luck splicing them. There is a center conductor and a shield surrounding it, can be tricky to splice.

If I was gonna do it, I would open the case and solder new rca's to the board.

Yea thats what Im going to do, open it up and put new rca's. One other thing tho, ppl that have alpine decks. Theres a warning label on the yellow (power) wire of the deck that says to connect directly to battery. Is it ok to connect the end of that yellow wire to some 8gauge power wire then connect to battery or should I try to find wire the same size as the yellow wire? * What size is the yellow wire (Its the same size as all the other speaker wires) Is it 10 gauge? 12,14,16,18? thanks

The yellow wire is a constant power, whereas the red is the ignition power. If you bought a Toyota wiring harness to wire up the Alpine harness with, both of those will be there.

Ok but what size is the yellow wire? I need to extend it and run it thru the firewall and directly to the battery, it says a warning label not to connect power to the dash power wire but to do it directly to the battery.

You'll be fine running constant power off of the harness.

i got alpine 9857 deck with alpine type R 10" and a m450 amp from alpine with stock speakers for the doors and rears, sound very good with loads of bass

You don't have to hook it up directly to the battery, use the constant power wire from your factory wiring harness.

I just finished setting eveyrhting up, turned it on...nice CLEAN sound, soo many features and sound adjustments tho that I gotta play with to make everthing just right.. BTW I ended up putting new rca's into the board and hooked up the power straight to the battery with 8gauge wiring.
