if you just go in the back of your car and try it, you should figure it out quite easily. on my 5th gen, the bench seat pops out by pressing 2 levers (one on each side) under the bench in the front, which totally dislodges that seat. The backing is merely held on by a bracket containing 5 bolts (3 to the floor, 1 to each back), and another bracket on each side of each seperate back piece with another bracket. Wow, that is confusing, so I will post pics soon >

to 6gencelicasrule, i think you should do it if you don't mind the ugly look of not having the back seats in. however, if you custom make something to cover the ugliness, go for it. It's roughly 41 pounds from my car (seems like a lot less), and I'm sure that the 6th gen is about the same weight wise. I noticed a difference in acceleration and handling, but this was only minor.
Lightening you car by any means is good in so many ways. However, do realize that rear seat removal will yield higher road noise levels.
