do you remove the carrier axle with the main axle or leave it in the tranny if possible? and do i need to drain the tranny also or not???

thanks for your help 6gc

Jayson
the bearing is attached a bracket and that bracket bolts to another. Just remove the 2 bolts and it seperates and slide axle out of tranny.

you can drin the tranny or have it drain when you pull the axle out.

Yes no matter what because once you get the axle out (its connected to the tranny) fluid would spill out its better to drain it oh and don't forget to get a new axle seal you will also need to get the carrier bracket pressed off and put onto the new axle.

no you don't. The bearing is sealed in a bracket, you remove one the 2 bolts and bearing/bracket assembly unbolts from a seperate bracket, it's easy.

You will need to get the carrier axle mount pressed off but take if off from the bearing bracket first.
