Questions about post-facelift bumper on pre-facelift Celica - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #62433 13 posts Started by GotToyota
Since my front bumper is horrible, I'll be buying a post facelift bumper for my 95'. Now, is the bumper straight plug-and-play fitment wise? Second, concerning the fog lights, does the bumper come with the brackets for the fog lights, or will I have to get some when I put the bumper on?

bumper is plug and play. Old one off, new one on.

the brackets are NOT part of the bumper itself, thhy bolt onto the crash bar (directly behind the bumper).

Oh ok. Would I put on the brackets BEFORE I put on the bumper or after? Would you happen to know the part number for the brackets?

I'm guessing my 95' wouldn't have them already?

The brackets can be put on with the bumper on or off, but it's much easier to install them with it off.

Man, that's pricey! Does it include the bolts and such to put them on? And I imagine my crash bar will have the bolt holes on there for these, right?

This is the link, your link was messed up:

Why is it not showing the part #? frown.gif

Honestly unless you want to pay $250+ for just the brackets and all of the hardware (not including the actual foglamps!!), your best bet is to go used. Either on here or an Auto Salvage Yard. I'll try to remember to compare my 98 and 94 celica's tomorrow to see if they have the same holes.

I'll already have the fogs, all I'll need is the brackets.
GotToyota, it is $136 EACH SIDE just for the bracket+hardware. Go used. smile.gif

This is of course, assuming you don't have the socket, harness, etc.

The bracket itself is $22 on 1stToyotaParts. What else is needed?
Aha! I overlooked that the "assembly" price included the lamp! Doh! Everything still totals up to ~$58 for each side.

2- Screw Back $0.48
3- Nut Back $0.90
4- Mount bracket $24.20
6- Socket and wire Back $11.88
7- Bulb Back $22.26

Those are the parts I need, but what about the wiring? Since I don't have the harness, I assume I can just do this:

The second part where he wires it without the fog switch/assembly. If I wire it that way will I still need all those parts? I think $58 for each side new is a good deal, considering used wouldn't be much cheaper.
I need to get rid of my 95 front end too, it's ugly.
That's funny all the 95's are doing the same thing, lol.
Yeah I'm doing the face lift too!

here is a break down on my cost (CAN)
brand new front bumper cover = 250
brand new clear turn signals + sides = 75
used fog lights = 50
new fog light brackets = 65
fog wiring and switch = 20
paint and installation = pending

I work for Toyota so these new parts are well discounted! lol. If you guys get the face lift bumper remember you need to get the new turns signals too. The pre-face lift turn signals well not fit on the new bumper. Also if you going to get a new new bumper, you have to used your old brackets that help attach the bumper to the fender.
