I read from a thread before that the monroe shocks and struts are stiffer than the KYB's... just want to know if this is true or not. So if any of you guys have the monroe shocks and struts installed please let me know the difference. thanks

I've heard the Monroe struts are horrible...but I've never had experience with them, so maybe they are ok. I couldn't image them being much better than the KYBs (if at all).

I'd get the KYB's. I have them in the rear and I love them. I need to get them for the front as well.

Cannot speak to stiffness, but be aware that KYB will honour their warrenty even on lowered cars, up to 1.5". Monroe considers any lowering a violation of its warrenty. Speaks to their relative confidence in performance.

Didn't you have KYB's before? I have KYB's right now on the front and back and I'm thinking of changing the front to Monroe. I'm not sure but I think one of the EC6G has Monroes on them.

I'm on Monroe Sensa trac's. I love 'em their a good blend of comfort and stiffness...
id also like to know about this. im planning on re-doing my springs and shocks soon and would like to know which is better. Can someone please let me know where to get the whole shock and strut replacements (for the kybs) rather than just the inserts?? I saw it on here somewhere a while back..
www.importrp.com... that's where I got mine.

I associate Monroe with PepBoys, AutoZone, Sears... so I vote Monroe:

KYB:

but I'm biased I guess, I have KYB's all around on the Celica and fronts on the Solara.

Ive used both...Monroe is nice oem upgrade-ish type replacement, But i would def have to say the kyb' s are def more stiff.
But the kyb's are also more cash so...like always..You get what you pay for and for those who think monroe is stiff, Ehh..thats prolly just compared to the sloppiness of a 14 year old stock set up .. IMO anyways =]
