I don't get vandalism...your car, somebody's else's car on here had their rear quarter panels and gas cap damaged...I had my front fender dented...I mean, nowhere near as bad as your situtation, but it still makes me mad.

I'm really sorry that happened to you too... it sounds to me like some random act of vandalism too. Maybe somebody just wanted to smash a big glass window because they could. I bet it was some dumb kids doing it on a dare.

i am astonished that you didnt loose it. im not sure if you would have been any different if it where your car, but if it where the exact situation where they JUST broke the glass and didnt steal anything, then i guess i would see no reason to be upset.

Well, I can think of many reasons to be upset. This week really isn't my week. Last night my laptop basically quit, so I lost all my files and pictures and basically all the information I had for the past few years. That laptop was a trooper though, it's been with me since I started traveling. It's ok though, because I just went and bought a new laptop and I'm really really happy with it because it's the first laptop I've ever purchased on my own. Maybe it's not the best out there, but to me, it's amazing .

I could be sad or upset about a lot of things, but I try to make the best out of the situation. Since I began traveling, it's made me see and understand more of the world around me. That's really why I don't get upset about a lot of things, because while I'm wasting time being upset, there's someone else out there who I could use my help. It does get hard sometimes to not get angry at people even if you know that you should be mad at them. But there is no point to try and hold a grudge because it will just make someone else hold a grudge on you, and the hating will never end.

Basically, kids are going to be kids. And there are always going to be victims of their vandalism or pranks. It just so happens, I was the victim this time, and I really wouldn't wish it upon anyone else. I accept what happened and I will have to do my best to cover the cost and repair of it .

Hey Derrick, I just read this. I am sorry to hear about that man. Amazing how you can keep you cool, and I am sure whoever did it has something coming their way naturally. If it happened to me, I would beat the $#!T out of anyone who even looked at me funny who drove or walked by after that. I check on my car with little sleep. I never go anywhere that I cannot keep an eye on my car. That is partially because I haven't an alarm system yet. When I do, it better reach more than 100ft though.

I know it is silly to be obsessive over a car, but that car is everything to me. I would probably kill someone or at least cut their Achilles tendons so they may never walk again if I caught them messing with my car. I would do it for even just being in my yard near it if they have a rep for messing with people's cars. So that way I won't go to prison for murder. Knock on wood, people have hit my car with their door, but I was able to fix that no problem. To the mofo who damages my GT4 exterior or projector headlights though? Aye! Pobrecito! That's all I got to say.


Anyways, I am sorry that happened to you man. Hope you win a scratcher or something so it isn't a big expense to you. I am sure working for Toyota has it's benefits though.

Oh hey! I am going to school now and we do not (or I was told no longer) have the T20 program (unless it is different in locations, it is the program that is sponsored for new auto techs to get in with Toyota) due to loss of funding (just my friggin luck). Do you know how long it takes for a dealership to get back to you after applying with them? Ah, it is not important.

It's not really silly to be obsessed with a car...I am too, and it's plain as **** compared to what people have here. I can't imagine how much I would covet a GT-4 tuned/modded to my liking.

Of course, I would put an alarm on that.

But Derrick, mad props to you for being so patient...I couldn't do it. Ever. I even went ballistic when some kid threw a shoe at my car in the school parking lot, didn't even cause any damage, but it was an unnecessary thing to do.

Finally someone understands me. People say "It's just a car, you can't kill someone over it" and they are right. But permanent damage seems fitting, considering how much I love my car. Re-occuring dreams of killing people for trying to break in my car. Seriously. I had a dream I left my car in a parking lot for a little bit and came out and it was stripped (actually this is the second dream) and I woke up wanting to cry. So yeah.

Man, people and their cigs. I've had someone throw a cigarette at my car and have it land on the convertible top before, it was by accident though (yeah idk how, but it was haha). It was my friend so he rushed over and brushed it off before any major damage was done.

Well I was hoping for this update to be a "Yay I got my window fixed!" update, but it's not. Car was attacked again.

This time it was a pumpkin in the windshield. So now I have 2 windows broken on 1 Celica. That windshield hasn't even been cleaned yet. I had it installed right before I moved up here, and haven't had a chance to detail the car, and then BAM! Couldn't they have broken something that needed replacement already, and not something that had just been replaced haha.

I walked outside this morning to find a pumpkin sitting in front of my Convertible. I'm thinking "oh such Halloween spirit Celica! Good work!" But sad news is it had broken the C-One lip off the car. Not cool. So as I'm unbolting the rest of the lip so I can drive to work (which btw made me late for work). I'm thinking aww man... who would go attack the C-one lip, that's one of my favorite parts on the car. Anyways, so I go to work, thinking to myself it's not that big of a deal, nothing that can't be fixed. So I work work work, then come home and as I'm looking at my Hatchback Celica I see cracks all along the windshield, and I'm thinking to myself... no way... not again... I take a closer look, and yep, shattered and they bent the wiper blade. Those hooligans! I came inside and spoke with my landlord, and he said that he noticed the windshield this morning, but I was still sleeping. He asked me if I wanted to file a police report again, and I said to just forget it, it's not going to make a difference anyways. I'm not 100% sure that it was the pumpkin that did the damage, but it was the only "weapon" in the area and large enough to shatter the windshield like that. I definitely remember NOT parking my car next to a pumpking last night haha. The pumpkin was of decent size, it was the size of a Basketball. It was strong enough not to break apart. I always thought pumpkins smashed upon impact. Oh well, jokes on them though. Because I'm going to use the pumpkin and carve it into something cool. Muhaha. Saved me a trip to a pumpkin patch. Happy Halloween/Birthday to me .

Once again, your patience is remarkable. And also, once again, I would've had to kill somebody. I'm surprised you didn't find a way to lock your stuff up (no garage?) after the first time. Sucks that people feel the need to do this. If I was you, I would've been hiding out in the bushes anyway...strike whoever dares to come near. That, or an alarm.

Yeah, I would love to park my car in the garage but there is only 1 garage parking, and my landlord parks his Mercades in it. The driveway is taken up by the other renters and my landlord's daily driver RAV4. But after this happening, my landlord might let me park my hatchback in the driveway . It still leaves my Convertible at risk, but atleast one of my cars will be slightly safer (even though it's only moving 10 feet to the right haha).

Pictures are always a must, are they not? Ok after absorbing more of this incident, I suppose the glass isn't AS bad as last time, but still bad enough to need replacement. I can barely see over the steering wheel as is, gosh how am I supposed to see over these cracks.

What I would do is hide out in the bushes, find whoever is doing it, and then follow them to their house. Then I would wait a few months and get them back twice as hard.

Ok well I've began looking over my choices. I kind of feel like they are targeting me and I don't want to bring this kind of attention to the house. If somebody for some reason has a problem with me, I don't want it to get to the point of it affecting the other people who live in this house. I know, that I have done nothing wrong, however whoever is doing this is not confronting me personally about it so I can not deal with the situation at hand. I've considered moving to a new location again. I've been here for 4 months and already thinking of leaving. Garage parking isn't going to be a possibility, and the car is going to need to sit there for another few months atleast. I'm worried about even finishing the car. What's going to happen when I put the new radio in, or get it painted, or get the windows fixed? It could just happen again and I'll have more to lose. Wait... now that I think about it.. that car has had a pretty bad history. The car has been in an accident before, bad enough for the previous owner to want to part it out, but I bought the whole car as is and fixed it to driveable condition. He told me that the car had been broken into several times and has had the radio stolen from it 3 times I believe. Hmmm maybe the car is supposed to be dead and it can't escape death! It's like Final Destination!
