Installing a Hitch - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #62808 5 posts Started by jimmykay
I'm wondering if anyone has put a hitch on their Celica.
I'm sure its possible, but didn't know if there are any places that have good deals on them. Or even if it's easy to do.

I'm wondering because I'm sure it would be cheaper for me to get a hitch on my car (for pulling a jet ski) than it would be to get an old truck.

have one welded up. Cheapest option.

otherwise, do a search for "rare parts" i've seen something about one... it'll deff be a special order item, and probably cost a fortune, but it would be cheaper than an entire truck. smile.gif

i think the name of that thread was "rare oem parts" or "rare part numbers" or some crap like that...

Cool.

1) http://maps.google.com
2) type in Toyota and your zip code
3) get the phone number to your nearest Toyota dealer ship
4) call and speak to the parts department
5) give the part number
6) place on order
7) ?????
8) PROFIT! biggrin.gif

0 for 3 so far.
Alton, IL says that the part number doesnt show up on anything.
tried a few of the larger St. Louis dealers and nothing.
just got a suggestion to call up a camping/rv type place for some custom work.

I emailed toyota to see what I could find.

Update: the part numbers for the tow accessories are not valid per Toyota USA.

It seems that the only option is to go to a camping / RV dealer and see about getting something custom made.
