I can relate with the "mom not listening" part. Been times where my mother has made me feel like wanting to hang myself out of sheer frustration. Then I get over it because what's the point of getting that upset? She's not going to change. You're still changing. In a few years, you'll look back and see that it was inconsequential (what the fight was about).
I also think bad-mouthing your mom in public is a poor way of venting your anger. Go to a driving range like I do and curse up a storm that freaks out all the other golfers . But again, most of us are guilty of having fights with our parents too (and probably venting/bitching to our friends about them as well). So I think we should cut grape some slack (but not too much).
