Hey all.
Just purchased a 94 Celica GT Hatchback last week, and figured I'd join the site that there seems to be tons of useful information here. I was able to purchase from the original owner, car has 178k miles and seems taken care of. Need to get working on basic tune up stuff over the next couple weekends.

So far I threw in a Panasonic head unit that I had to replace the stock radio. I also have two Alpine Type E 12"s powered by a Power Acoustik Area 51 (520x2) amp that will probably be on soon. I still haven't decided on speaker replacements for the doors. I'm probably not going to spend much, with the economy sucking and all. I'm thinking possibly Alpine Type S's but have no intentions of getting an amp for them anytime soon. So any other recommendations? I listen to mostly rap, if that helps.

Also considering throwing on stock Acura RSX 16's, I hate the steelies.

Anyway, it's a great car and I love it so far. I feel it was a good $1900

As far as speakers go, I have Type-S' all around and I'm very satisfied. They're not amped and lack some bass, but they're crystal clear. If you're going to install subs anyway, I highly recommend those. You will have to kill your tweeters, however.

Very well maintained for a 170K car! Good buy!

Looks a good car! A blank canvas

I have Boston Acoustic all four corners and couldn't be happier with the fitment and sound quality. Not sure if you consider that cheap enough - was on the high side of cheap IMO.

Actually, it also depends on your budget. Those Alpines would be pretty much budget, the Boston Acoustics obviously would not...

You mean the Econ Trail Valencia? I used to drive all the way over to UCF but i decided im just gonna take the gen ed stuff @ valencia west, so i don't head that far east anymore, but will in a few years again.
