I have no qualms about spending my money frivolously when I have it. Buying a car that is on the other side of the continent, in a different country, with no way of getting it back here and licensed... sounds right up my alley

I don't necessarily care that it's being sold since it has to go somewhere and sometime, but the fact that they wanna trade it for a nice "Civic" or a "turbo Civic" makes me mad.
I inquired about it like a month ago because he posted it on Portland CL too. He doesn't respond to emails. I think someone called him a while back too, and he didn't call back. I guess he's just waiting for a Civic to drop into his lap.

I emailed him. I believe this is the same guy as before, but I'll see if/when he replies. I want my damn shift knob back that is in it! Homeboy vaughnz drove away after I told him I wanted to grab my shift knob. If the owner complies then I'll give it a walkthrough and put up a review if anyone is interested.

Anyone remember what Coomer sold his car for originally? I personally wouldn't want to buy it for more after all the flogging it's been through with these past few owners.

i bought it from Coomer in the $4.5K range and put near $3500 into correcting the wiring and throttle problem, a few mods like a new exhaust, corbeau seats, one-off harness bar, etc. and then sold it for $6000 due to buying my WRX and moving. That was january of 2008. It has had 5 or 6 other owners since then. a good price on it now is $5000-$5500.

I find it odd that the car keeps going up for sale, maybe there's possibly something wrong with it that we don't know about?
The 20V is really not that fast of an engine especially if its fitted on to a heavy weighted body. I could understand if Coomer got tired of filling it up with Premium gas and the fact that a civic can beat it anyday. Sometimes we have to give up on some stuff in order to get better stuff.
But Celica's really aren't heavy though.

The yelli celi isn't a race car. A lot of people need to understand that. The 20V motors are high revving low torque engines. They do fine in a gutted corolla, but not in the Celica. That's not to say the Yelli Celi isn't fast, its just not fast comparatively. Any B16 with any bolt ons would kill it. That is the sad truth.
