ok sweet. now, since i have a 5sfe, i should already have the 5s disk. so all i really need is the 3sgte pressure plate. do i have to have a custom plate made, or will a normal 3sgte pressure plate work?

normal one will work, all though I do not recommend you using your old 5s disc, because it won't be able to hold the power the 3s has. Your clutch will be slipping sooner or later.

i think you may have parts confused.
go to howstuffworks.com and research a bit, its a great way to learn how all that stuff works.

you need a 3sgte pressure plate, 3sgte clutch disk, with 5sfe (s54) splines, and the 3sgte flywheel.(resurfaced of course) you will also want a new throwout bearing also, as tweek discribed in your other thread.
