a CT-26 twin entry ( from 3sgte ) has been fitted on 4age's before, they get decent numbers along with turbo lag, which is expected when using a turbo this size on a 1.6L engine, the 7a being 1.8L I think it'd get similar results, some power and lag, but notice I said twin entry, the CT26 turbo found on the supra is single entry, which would make lag a lot worst than what it would be with a twin entry.
as far as better what are the specs of the t3/ t4 turbo ?
