i think there should be somebody (if the current moderators have their hands full) to update all the stickys in each section. i was reading through some turbo posts and they're like.. five years old. heck the turbo sticky hasn't been updated in 3 years.
im not saying that people shouldnt learn to search because personally, i also hate repetitive questions that could be solved if they had simply searched. however, there is tons of information on the website that could go in the sticky section so that people who dont search can at least read the stickys and have updated information.
edit to add: it IS true however that the stickys do have very valuable information, whether it be old or not. i just think an updated list, with more updated information (if there is any) would be viable.

i agree, i also think that if the stickys for each section were not hidden away in another link and if they were put at the top of each section there would be less and less repetitive questions asked. The stickys are kinda hidden away.

I'll try to have a look at them sometime, there are only really 2 of us on here at the moment, by the time i've checked through 5 or so pages of posts, i just can't be bothered if i'm perfectly honest
There are too many topics to be shown at the top of each section, they would take up the whole screen.

problem with the pictures. Lets say i create a sticky, upload to my account, then no longer active anymore, and delete my pics, we have a sticky, with no pics...
thats about 30% of stickys. good info, no pics... if we had a way to store pics.

I agree, instead of all these floating pictures stored in other places, when becomes inactive, no pics with stickys. We definitely need a place to store pics on this site to keep the information intact.

we really need you guys' help to update all the stickys.
#1, if you find dead links, PM a mod, we'll update the link if someone has one, or remove the link if not.
#2, 99% of the stickys are still open to reply to. if you see a thread that has old facts, that need updating, DO SO!! then let a mod know, and we can clean up the rest of the thread, or unsticky and sticky , or whatever needs to be done.
#3. if you see somthing specific, that needs to be changed, again, just PM a mod, (myself or luke ATM are your best bet as we are on most)
as far as pic storage, we have talked to chris about it before, and chris pretty much nixed it.
we tried to get him to set up a dontation account to offset the added cost, to no avail.

if someone wants to setup a universal photobucket account, thats fine with me, just PM me the link to it, and ill sticky it.

Rather than a universal photobucket account, would you (the mods) be open to being the "keepers" of the account? That way it would prevent any abuse that could ensue by having a universal account that everyone on the site has access too.

Really, using the photobucket account... these are your only real options... The only other thing that you could do; is personally setup the account (and keep the password retrieval info just incase) then when someone needs to upload; you can give that person the password VIA pm; Then change it after they've uploaded w/e needs to be uploaded. If that person acts screwy and trys to change the password; then you've got the retrival info to get it back. The only issue there is that there will be no way to fix the damages done while they have the account IF a member were to do something like that.
But you could always require an address before handing out pass word, so if someone acts a fool with the account; the nearest respectable member can head down and smack some sense into him

The only other thing you could do (optimal option) would be to setup an FTP with a "guest" or "limited access" account that they would only allow someone to Upload but unable to delete.
