did it fit in the stock mount or did you have to mod/cut? I'm assuming its a 1" tweeter?

Thanks for the info. Post some pics of them when you get a chance njccmd2002.

On a slightly different note. I was at a local mobile audio store debating on what to do about the front speakers in my 1996 Toyota celica. I don't want to run a amp right now but i wanted a little more bass then what i had. So after debating for some time and figuring out that what i want is more in the future. We decided to try something out. I bought and Memphis 8" 2-way MARINE speakers! laugh.gif hahaha. I know i was laughing in the store too but figured what the heck, lets see what happens. Besides, the only difference between a standard speaker and a marine speaker is the waterproof coating. Oh, and i picked them up for $149.99.

So i tried them out and they sound good! The highs and mids are good and has nice bass response. Alot better then what i expected. The speakers comes with a crossover and the tweeter is swiveling. I'm running them off of my deck which is a eclipse 50x4. They mounted perfect in the stock location with all mounting holes lining up.

This should be good until i decide on whether to invest some cash in the audio since its my DD or put the money elsewhere. Here are some pics. I took them at night but i will put up another pic when its light out tomorrow. Enjoy!

Thanks!

I'm trying to get my hands on a set of the tweeter housings now. That's actually the same component set I'm looking to get once I decide on the rest of my setup.

I have been playing with these Memphis speakers and they are sounding awesome! I definitely recommend them if someone is trying to run a 8" with out an amp.. They have good highs and the mids run low to give some 'more then expected' bass.
