WAS READ STICKY POST ON Suspension Techniques Sway Bars

BUT NEVER SAID THEY HAVE CHANGED FOR SURE SO THAT IS wink.gif KNOW MORE RUBBING OR NOISE AFTER INSTALL??

I HAVE GT-S MODEL SO DO U GUYS GET RUBBING OR NOISE .. AND HOW IS THE PERFORMANCE WITH THE TEIN SS ADDED

THANKS
they have e new version now that doesnt rub. i was pretty sure that was for the ST's. so u are good either way.

teins are very good coilovers. they are the softer of the coilovers offered for our cars. and they dont come with the upper pillowball mounts so u will have to get some cuscos for aroun $250

would that be the ss ten that does come with pillowball , do u have the ss sway bars?
the SuperStreets dont come with them
so u have to get these for the fronts

you dont have to get them, u can use your stock mounts but they arent adjustable

i have the sway bars as well. they are a WONDERFUL upgrade

I ran a group buy on the suspension techniques sway bars a while ago, and there are two different versions, however the 1st version (the ones that rubbed) are no longer produced. So no matter where you go you'll get the newer remake.

As for coilovers, the tein ss coils are spoken highly of. Megan racing also makes a good set that also comes with pillowball mounts. A little fact I learned when researching megan coilovers for my wrx was that the part numbers are identical for apex'i coilovers- leading me to believe that they're manufactured in the same place.

darn. i wish i knew that before. megans are decent build quality. i wonder how well them perform on the track

so to sum up...
if purchasing tein ss coilovers, it is necessary to get these "pillowball mounts" to make them adjustable
where as other coilover setups include these built into the coilover (like megan)
so this is my confusion-
i thought the whole idea with coilovers was that they were adjustable, why am i having to buy extra pieces to make them(tein ss coilovers) adjustable?
how do they function w/out pball mounts? are they adjustable at all
this makes no sense...
they would be adjustable for the height and dampening without the pillowball mounts. the mounts are so you can adjust the camber. they arent necessary. but it wouldnt be bad at all to have them

oh i forgot. lowering a car can cause the camber to be messed up, making the tires wear unevenly. so either you could re align it or get some new mounts

So to stop wear on tires after lowering , new mounts ? ... is that the same same the putting on pillow mounts to stop wear?

ya but even with these pillowball mounts i wouldnt be adjusting the camber myself...gah i dont understand this cuz someone else had some camber adjustment kit blah blah blah for some reason suspension crap is so confusing to me makes me mad : (
mm yea i just what to right .. so it ride wicked .. or not do it at all ,

If you're getting coilovers just buy the pillowball mounts as well. Coilovers are sold with pillowball mounts already, so you might as well get some for the teins.

you can get a camber kit, which is just an adjustable bolt that holds your strut body to the knuckle. it isnt adjustable on-the-fly like pillowball mounts are.

you guys are making this much harder than it needs to be. if you are getting lowering springs go with a camber kit. if you are getting coilovers go with pillowball mounts.
