mOOoooOoOhahahaha~! I'l see dis 2nite...I guess ur faster than me now~....for now >wink.gif>
sweet. looking forward to those settings and dyno figures >smile.gif>
I was at a shop when some guys from apex USA showed up and were talking to the guy who was getting it installed. They said you cant expect much gains from it unless you have a monster car to begin with (ie. turbo setup, or heavy mods like upped compresion and stuff) they said your lucky if you get a 2% gain. so on an ST thats like 2-3 HP. Just a heads up for ya... so your not disapointed with the dyno.

side note: where in the car did you install it, like where on the dash... so far Doggy's setup is the nicest I have seen.

Heh...trust the mighty butt-meter gh0st_d0g...

On my old 94 ST (fully built head [shaved, P&P, 3 angle valve job, retainers and springs], CAI/H/E/Underdrive pulley...) I dyno tuned around 8-10 HP gains all over the powerband. The highest gains were in the 3500-4000 rpm... and then again in the 6K department, dropping off at fuel-cut. I had all of my old timeslips and dyno runs in the glove compartment of that car, which was sold after a nasty accident... so I'll vouch for those who have faith, that a fine tuned SAFC can nab some nice gains. On a stock/modestly modified motor, not a lot, 3-6hp is a good estimate, but heh... every bit counts...right?

Right now, I haven't had time to go dyno-tune my current set-up (refer to profile)...I just tweak-tuned it with an a/f meter... but there are definate gains in the 3-4K rpm range... it jumps nicely... but I wouldn't say it's more than 5 hp...

That looks amazing Edo! >smile.gif> Did you 'glass it in there?

New Toyota project coming soon...

i was going to do that with my SAFC2 but i have it where i can see it then hide it in the pouch under the cd player.

and also

the stock ST fuel map is WAY RICH. even with -17% i was still in the rich zone with a nice feel.

now i finally started leaning out my car with the turbo setup. i used to be pegged at rich but now its on the first green bar on my gauge. i'll lean it out more untill its in the ideal/stoich range when under boost.

and btw, the SAFC2 was the one mod that did the most for my car untill i installed the turbo setup

COOL. ive installed it but havnt mounted it any where speacial just got it in the glove box for now. i wasnt expecting a huge HP gain or TQ gain. by the way.

The base HP with just Cold air intake and Striaght pipe with Apexi N1 (stock piping with removed cat and resonator) was 97.1 hp and 98 tq. The only bad thing is that it was running to lean at the start and WAY Rich at high end.

Checked the fuel pump and all that stuff and everything looked good. So installation was a go.

After installing S-AFC and dynoing it i got a hp gain of 102hp and 106tq. I also had www.autotechmotorsports.com tune it for me and even though the gains arnt that impressive the car feels more responsive. doesnt feel sluggish going from 1st to 2nd and also doesnt feel to bad over all. over all im ok with it.
Wow, that's more than I thought a 7a could muster. >wink.gif>

No kidding. I drove my friend's Geo with the 1.8 7AFE motor in it...and it's an automatic...wow I feel sorry for you guys no offense. Those witht he St Auto...ouch! I spose with a manual the time to get thru the first gear is a bit less and maybe a bit quicker. Any HP gains in an ST is good I think and it definitely needs it!

And I mean no offense ot those of you with this car, just saying from my personal experiences...I'm glad I have the GT...and it's no where near my RX.

Yes, but didn't he dyno his car to get those settings? Also, need I remind everyone of what speedtoe said about judging air\fuel based on a O2 sensor?
